My Question or Issue

Report Content form is broken. The "Type of content" dropdown, which is required, doesn't contain any values.

Tried on multiple devices, multiple browsers, cleared cookies, private browsing. Nothing helps.

Edit to add:

I am reporting a podcast that autoplayed, interrupting the podcast I was actually listening to as my phone connected to my car. It is now in my Recently Played with no option of removing (other than to wait / drown it out with other content), also keeps showing up in recommendations despite having 0 relevance to other podcasts I listen to.

I used this Report button:

choosing "Content I don't like" in the reporting form. After verifying email, I hit the broken form above.

Hello @elithuzad,

Thanks for posting this thread in the Community and welcome to the forum!

We'd like to start by mentioning that reporting the podcast will not remove it from the home screen where it seems to be currently appearing for you and there's an Idea which you can vote for that is related to customizing what is displayed. As you mentioned, the more content you listen to/interact with, the more you're telling the algorithm what you're interested in and the podcast should eventually disappear. When it comes to showing Spotify you're not interested in a podcast, there's another Idea here which you can vote for in order to show your support, as there's other users that would like such a feature to be available.

If you still need to report something, but you're seeing this error message even after the troubleshooting steps that you mentioned, there's a workaround. After you have clicked on Report in the app you can copy and paste the report link in an incognito-window of your browser and then after you verify your email address, you should be able to report the content without further issues - you just have to make sure you are not logged in on that incognito-window.

We understand that it's unpleasant to have your content interrupted and we're aware of the behavior of Spotify auto playing some content when connected to some Bluetooth devices. We have previously forwarded this to the tech team, yet for the time being, there isn't a specific solution to prevent this from happening as these actions seem to be a result of how the specific Bluetooth device is designed to interact with the Spotify API. We’re constantly optimizing our app, so this behavior might change in future updates.

We hope that this info helps clear things up and we're here if there's anything else you need assistance with.

Take care!

I have the exact same issue. No dropdown on "Select content type" is available neither in the mobile or desktop versions.

Same problem when trying to report a bot playlist. The dropdown to select content type is empty.

Hey folks,

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this!

Our teams have made some changes backstage and you should be able to use the form to report. Could you give it a try and let us know if it's working correctly?

We'll be on the lookout for your replies.

Hello @novy , I am currrently having the same problem. both on the iOS app and in chrome browser.

Hey @riotousmonk,

Thanks for reaching out!

Have you tried the workaround provided by @Ivelina? Can you give it a shot and if you're still experiencing the issue afterwards, it'd be great if you can send us a screenshot so that we can have a closer look.

Keep us posted.

The Report illegal content on Spotify form isn't working. I get to the part when I share it is a TradeMark issue and try to add a UID (which also doesn't work) and then it won't let me continue? I fill in all three of the required fields but no luck.

Still can't report content. The third field is a drop down menu that says "Select content type" but there are no options to select when I click it. Since the field is required I can't continue unless I complete it which is impossible. I have tried this on the android app, mac desktop app and on my laptop on chrome and keep running into the same issue. I even tried the incognito workaround and that didn't work either.

Hey! So for some background I’ve been trying to report this account that at one time was using my full legal name for its music as a troll. The person deleted the music after we talked by the page still comes up when my name is googled. He had two accounts at one time and I was able to fill out the form and get one of them removed but now when I try to fill out the form for the other account it keeps crashing saying “yikes something went bad here”. I’ve talked to spotify about it and they’ve given me 0 good advice. Would just like the account taken down.

I would like to report someone who is uploading my music under a different name without my permission. Please see the link below. Could the names be corrected, including the royalties? It's about the track: Joining Forces. Uploaded by: STØMPWRLD

He uploaded multiple versions and remixes of our track.

They don't have to be deleted, but he should not earn any money from it. And should pay back what he already earned.

“‘Joining Forces’ is our property (The Resonant Squad), and no permission was ever requested or granted. Please see the SoundCloud link as evidence that this track belongs to us.”

And if necessary, I can show the project file from the production of the track. If you need anything else from me, please let me know. Thank you in advance!

"Still can't report content. The third field is a drop down menu that says "Select content type" but there are no options to select when I click it. Since the field is required I can't continue unless I complete it which is impossible" Exactly the same. Please do something!

If you find a fake / spam / AI artist infriging on a real artist's name and content, and go to "report" that artist, and choose the form at the bottom of the page for infringing on intellectual property rights, if you go through the form, the form fails every time with the error shown.  It needs to be corrected because this is the vehicle for notifying Spotify of AI spammers squatting on artist profiles.3.png
