Shuffle in Spotify for Tesla is producing the same “random” order every day

This bug report has nothing to do with playing repeated songs in a Radio. This issue is specific to Tesla cars, and Tesla cars only.

Every day, Spotify for Tesla starts playing the same shuffled sequence of songs in a large playlist. Basically, I’m listening to the same several songs in a playlist of thousands of songs all the time. It doesn’t help to turn off and turn on Shuffle - this works only once, and then the original ‘random’ order restores next day. It doesn’t help to restart or update the car. The ‘random’ order remains the same anyway. Tesla Service is saying ‘works as expected’ on any reported software issues. Please fix this issue. Is there a workaround that we can use until it’s fixed?

My 2024 Model 3 has had this same issue for the past month or two. Prior to that it was fine and did not often repeat the same songs. Now it happens 100% of the time. The version is 2025.26.4 but the issue started in 2025.20.6 or 2025.20.3.

I own a brand new Tesla model Y long range since may and always had the issue. I don't know the original Tesla os version but here are my current informations:

So something interesting happened today. I was playing my Spotify playlist from my iPhone through a Google max device. After playing about five songs the playlist repeated the first five songs again. So same problem as the Tesla. The only connection is that I was playing the same playlist I play in the Tesla. This playlist has over 9 thousand tracks. This problem does not happen on any other playlist. Max number of tracks on other playlists is below 2000.

I can confirm I have the exact same issue in my Model Y Juniper, running FW 2025.32. It is quite annoying.

1. I start playing a playlist with shuffle on, go through few songs
2. I step out of the car
3. I get back in the car
4. The playlist starts playing again from beginning, in the exact same order
   • The playlist should at least just continue in the sequence, not restart from beginning
   • Or the playlist should start from beginning, but with another random sequence
5. I am sad I need to listen to exact same song all over again.
6. Wife is sad complaining why the heck the song plays for the third time
7. I keep getting distracted from driving because I need to keep switching playlists everytime I get in the car.

Pretty please, fix this.

My Question or Issue

When using my Tesla Model 3's built-in Spotify App, I will be streaming from a playlist (doesn't matter if it's one of mine, a Spotify daily mix, etc.). I will have the playlist on shuffle, and it will shuffle through songs just fine. The issue is that when I park the car, leave, and then come back, it will finish playing the song I left it at and then go back through the old shuffle playlist, as if it has forgotten that I had already played them. For example, on a drive, I will hit shuffle and it will play song 1, song 2, song 3, song 4, and part of song 5. Then, when I leave and come back, it will finish song 5, then play song 1, 2, 3, 4, then skip 5, then continue with the shuffle normally (6,7,8...). This has been occurring on my system for months now, and it is not on any other device.

Having this issue now as well, it keeps playing the same 6-7 songs on repeat everytime I click on the play. This is happening with all my playlists
