Spotify Feedback

Hi Spotify developers (and management),

First off, congrats for developing an awesome concept.  If you hadn't thought about it already, music lovers run out of space for music on their mobile devices, so streaming music over Spotify allows us to keep our "old" handsets longer and still listen to all the music we love.  Kudos!

But I'm worried that Spotify has recently lost its way.  Your customers really don't care that you made a deal with Coca-Cola.  Especially your PAYING customers.  Fix your desktop app issues please ("Failed to enable Spotify social", friends list continually "Loading...").  Continue to improve your iOS and Android apps.  And for god sakes, put out an iPad app ASAP!!!  (as an aside, if you want something to emulate, check out the DirecTV app for iPad -- constantly improving, adding new features like streaming, nice UI)

I will say that allowing mobile streaming & syncing at "Extreme" bandwidth is awesome, but honestly, this is 2012.  You guys need to figure out a way for the app to automatically pick the "best" speed based on real-time network conditions.  For instance, while I'm driving in my neighborhood, Extreme works great, without skipping.  But the second I get to the on-ramp to the freeway (especially around rush hour), I've got to go into the settings and manually drop down to Low Bandwidth, then restart the track, just so that any music comes out.  The Stream & Sync setting should allow the user to cap their bandwith usage in case they have limits to maintain.

You guys started on the right path, but have gotten a little confused about your direction.  Without your fan base, marketing deals mean nothing.  So please, remember to focus on your users?

Hey, Spotify is great. Anyways, I have the free version, maybe I'll upgrade someday to avoid the issue I am about to explain - but, well, we like to listen to Spotify with our daughter, and we'd rather her not hear liquor adverts. I know you've gotta get paid, but if there were an option to ar least hear ads that are not for adult-oriented products, that would be nice.

show us that you're listening and get rid of the condom ads or I'll have to not allow the family to use your service.  I have teen and younger kids.  I simply can't allow them to listen and I won't either if we can't get rid of these type of ads.  Come on!!

Totally agree. I have a little sister in the next room over, not to mention my parents walking down the hall. Pretty embarrassing and awkward to have porno music playing and people describing lubricants and ribs. Spotify has helped me find some really great artists, but I'll have to switch back to Pandora if something isn't done.

on mobile:

1.have playlists organizeable from most recently added. So that i can quickly listen to newest songs without having to scroll to bottom

2. need a check system that alerts you if you already added a song to a playlist

3. add feedback form to app in 'more' section

Great service that is so easy to use, still you can improve it even more!

- I miss good apps, ones that I would pay to have. For example guitar chord app that song has full sync with lyrics + chords to play along. Would make for example guitar learning so much more fun and faster.

Hello dear Spotify,

as a paying Spotify-Lover i have one or two requests and i want you to take note. 

First of all, why not give a chance to sort all of them Songs? Make a Cover-View like in iTunes or like you did when you click on Similar Artists.. If you have your 400-500 Starred tracks some get lost, and that's not what you want, do you? 

Make it look better and Easier!

Then some Updates for Android would be nice, but thats my last problem. 

Besides that i'm highly satisfied by Spotify, thanks!

There is no way to sort alphabetically.  I see there's a folder option, which could be a work around, but I find myself unable to find a playlist quickly and it is frustrating... not to mention, switching music while driving is then up to another person in the car.

Thanks for the ideas guys. Remember that we have a specific Ideas Board for all of these, where some of this has already been suggested.

'Playlist sorting options' is currently one of the top ideas, for example, and marked as Under Consideration

Hi Spotify Team!

First off I would like to thank you all for this awesome creation. I've discovered so much music since I've logged on. One thing I would love to see (which might be a minor request compared to others) is the ability to search for music by genre and also sort playlists/starred list by genre. I have so much on my starred list now its difficult to separate.

I believe the most recently added playlist defaults to the top of the list of playlists, fyi... My post was asking to be able to sort alphabetically.

I wanted to complain about something and I couldn't find a spot besides here to do so. I love Spotify for myself, great music and easy to use. However I've been trying tp play kids music for my daughter and am annoyed by the volume of bible music that finds its way into the playlist. I have been thumbs down-ing all religious music but it keeps playing. Not everyone with kids is a Christian. I would love to be able to block all Christian music from playing. It's inappropriate and rude to anyone of different faiths or no faith. Thanks.

Can you provide more Above and Beyond or Ajunabeats albums? It's my favorite group and there are a lot of albums I know of that aren't available on Spotify.

FYI... upon "fiddling" with my playlists, A USER IS ABLE TO ACTUALLY DRAG A PLAYLIST INTO WHATEVER POSITION IN THE LIST THEY WANT TO.

This must be done one by one, but WOW!  I found a temporary fix and wanted to let you know so you can post to those other areas where people are asking... at least will tide me over until you all create a "sort" button.

Searching for music by genre is already a feature, just type genre:yourgenrehere into the search box.

Also, please remember to take a look through our Ideas Board if you have any ideas for what you'd like to see in Spotify. I'm wary of this becoming simply a wishlist thread and that's not the process we ideally want to have. Ideas in the board that get voted up in the board can be properly tracked and updated, so check it out.

i think spotify is an amazing piece of software and i use it EVERYDAY onn macbook,windows pc and android phone!! yea talkin' tabout cross platform!!

there is just one thing i still miss..

when i hear an song on the radio i want to save it onto my playlist( talking about a song i already know) now when i search a song i can't see if i already have that song in one of my playlist. it would be even more awesome if i could see that! i mostly use spotify on my mac and i barely search songs on my phone, i just play music.

and 1 thing i really mis on spotify for android, the way an now playing song was presennted. with the scroll down image. its now just a banner on the bottom.. but that's just me.

Glad you are enjoying Spotify! I love it too, like you on multiple platforms. 

I agree that there should be a way to view if a song is already on a playlist, and clearly someone else does too as there is an Ideas over on the Ideas Exchange here which suggests this functionality should be added.

I would suggest you give it some kudos and maybe a comment if you would like to see it implemented 😉

The only problems that I see are with the radio. No shuffle of radio stations? You can't delete radio stations? Those choices don't make any sense to me. But other than that I use the radio all the time and I love the product. Keep up the good work
