Stop Podcast Live Transcript

Stop Podcast Live Transcript

My Question or Issue

I clicked on Episode Transcript for an episode of one of my podcasts in order to check it out and see how it worked. After using it briefly I clicked the back arrow in the top left. Ever since I clicked on that I now have a live transcript on the track page for every podcast with the live transcript option rather than the static image of the podcast. I would like to turn this off but I am not able to find such an option.

Having the same issue, can't switch to the podcasts art. The auto transcription doesn't even work properly, consumes too much battery, and my 3 years old kid doesn't care about it, he just wanna see the arts. There is no option to turn it off, wth.

Hi folks,

Thanks for flagging this!

We've reported this to our tech folks so that they can investigate what's happening. We'll let you know as soon as we get an update.

Take care.

Huzzah! One step closer!

It has been 2 years. Still not fixed. So annoying. Alreeady switched to Apple podcasts app. Fix this soon so I come back to Spotify.

Well hurry up. I’m not paying $10 for these tech folks to take their sweet time. This is embarrassing. Chop chop

Guys, just give us the option to turn this OFF!!
Its very easy. Ridiculous that there is still no fix to this šŸ˜’

This has been escalated now. Waiting for response.

Did this ever get resolved? I'm experiencing this on my iOS-app, and it is really annoying.

complete and utter insanity that there is no option to disable this. it is needlessly distracting and battery-draining. legitimately considering ending my decade+ long premium subscription because of this and the similarly insane addition of a comments section on podcasts. these devs have proven over and over again that they do not care about user experience and will force terrible features that no one asked for upon everyone with no option to disable them. enshitification of every possible service continues.

This is not a solution.

Please fix it... Android app too!

Yes please, let us disable podcast transcripts. It is burning through my phones battery

Hey everyone,

Thanks for posting in the thread!

We're still looking into this, and to help our teams, it would be great if you could send us:

  • A link to the episode(s) you're experiencing this with.
  • A screen recording showing how things look from your end.

We'll keep an eye out for your replies!

For me, this issue exists for every single episode of . I’ve tried multiple times to attach a screen recording to this reply, but this forum limits attachments to a file size of 5MB, which is wayyyyy too small for any screen recording.

For my this issue is for most of my Podcasts and all episodes from them, here are some of them:

For me, this issue exits for allmost all podcasts and episodes. Here are some of them:

It is happening to me on Android. Insanely annoying that there is no option to switch it off... its a terrible user experience. Threads not solved either. Its still an ongoing issue for many people...

This issue consistently occurs with my podcast—take .NET Rocks, for example (see attached screenshot). It genuinely makes me wonder: do you at Spotify actually use the podcast feature yourselves? If so, you must surely have encountered this behavior and realize how incredibly frustrating it is. Unfortunately, I’ve had to stop using Spotify for podcasts entirely because of this.
