Suddenly Unable to Access Hulu (Individual Premium plan)

I've been an Individual Premium subscriber for ages (and previously paid for Hulu back when it was a separate service).

I've been using Spotify and Hulu (Hulu via my AppleTV) forever with no issues.

A couple days ago, I lost access to Hulu and it's now saying something about MyDisney. When I try to log into Hulu (either directly or by clicking the Hulu link here in Spotify) it takes me to a MyDisney Account Creation prompt.

I've tried Hulu's help/support, but get the same thing: a dialog to create a new MyDisney account. I don't want to do that for fear I'll end up with two separate accounts that I can't reconcile later.

How do I resolve this? Since Spotify doesn't seem to have any human tech support, the only option I can see right now is to cancel my Spotify Premium account and create an account on whatever this new "MyDisney" thing is so I can access Hulu again.

With the help of Hulu's chat support, we determined that there was some sort of technical glitch on Hulu's side.

I was unable to log in, as you suggest, because the system was only giving me the option of creating a new account. As soon as I entered my username (email address), it defaulted to 'new account creation' rather than finding my email address in the database and presenting me with a password field.

Their tech team got the issue fixed and I was eventually able to log in normally. I put this reply here in case anyone else experiences this same login issue.

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community. 

 

We understand where you're coming from, but keep in mind that if the Hulu bundle is still active, you'd only need to log in as usual with the details of the Hulu account you linked to Spotify.

 

At the moment it's not possible to switch the linked account in Hulu so if you're not sure of your login details, it's best you reach out to Hulu support so they can help you find the account which is linked to Spotify as from our end we can't see the Hulu account the bundle was activated on.

None of the "solutions" work. This issue has been persisting for nearly two months. It's frustrating. Just so we are on the same page when I click your services page. I've tried signing into Hulu using my spotify email and that didn't work and then I tried making a hulu account under the same email and that also didn't work. I'm ready for a solution that actually works. Hopefully that's not too much to hope for.

None of this stuff works. Disney is forcing to use Disney accounts and not accepting anything to do with Spotify that I can see.  NOTHING for a linked Spotify account.

 

All of this appears to be on Disney's end of things completely.  Without any notice, I found two passcodes in my email for a Hulu login.  Where to put those?  Not Spotify's immediate problem, but it is a business issue and a serious one in the perception of the end user not able to access services that have supposedly been negotiated.

 

Fix it please.  Disney's immediate "solution" is likely against contractual terms in a round-about way.

I did not sign up for Disney. I have a premium Spotify/ HULU account. If this is not resolved ASAP, I will drop Spotify and HULU!

I lost my Hulu from Spotify too. I can't access help for Hulu because I have to create a Disney account. I do NOT want a Disney account,  I just want my Hulu back!

After a go-round of password changes I managed to get Hulu back.  I think it was a fluke.  Disney has announced plans of folding Hulu completely into Disney (don't know which area) and doing away with Hulu.
