Unable to update or to find in store application for WebOS

Solved!

Unable to update or to find in store application for WebOS

For some reason I'm not able to update or even to find the application in content store. All other app versions work as usual (desktop, phone, browser), my region is still available for payments and streaming. Help please, maybe someone knows which country should I choose on my TV to find app in store?

Country

Belarus

LG TV

WebOS 05.50.10

And the final updates arrived,

So the solution is to change Service Country in TV service setting to the one which contains Spotify available in store.

REMINDER:

Not the system preferences with usual remote but the system service settings with special service remote controller!

Cheers

Hey @LiomDJ,

Thanks for reaching out.

The app should be available in your country, so if you're not seeing it, we'd recommend making sure that your TV's firmware is up-to-date.

Keep us posted.

Hey, thanks for the answer

This is the last available update for TV, also was checked yesterday on another TV with Belarus region was set (WebOS), and no results with search, this is very weird. I have some thoughts about the root cause, like world situation that we have. The issues appear right after unavailability in Russia region. Any thoughts which service should I try write to or some other ideas maybe? I can use AirPlay for example but this is not the way)

Hi there @LiomDJ,

Thanks for the reply.

We did some more digging around, but unfortunately, with the information we have access to we can't say for sure if the app is unavailable due to your geographical location. We can't confirm what might be causing this, since the Spotify app for TV and WebOS is developed by the TV manufacturer using Spotify API, so we don't have direct control over the app and it's availability.

What you can do is reach out to the customer support team from the TV manufacturer to get more info about this. Sometimes when there are changes made to our API, it takes the different manufacturers some time to update the TV apps for their devices, so it's best you check if there is a new firmware release coming up.

Hope this helps.

Hi Alex,

In general I have Spotify installed on TV and it works at the moment, but long time no updates. So, when I try to open app page from content store (the installed one) it says to me that application is not available in my current region.

Anyway, thanks for the answer and I will try to reach LG support.

Best regards

Hello everyone,

A small update from my side.

After some diggin on Reddit I found that the root cause of problem could be a region system setting that was set on TV (and this is not about region and broadcast setting in general preferences). The main reason is that Russian (or the one that contain Russia inside) region was set in system and to change it the service remote control needed.

I’ve just ordered one from AliExpress, also available on Amazon and eBay.

Will share updates!)
