Hi @colin-31,

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community, and welcome!

It sounds like you’re using Spotify on your Chromebook via the Web Player, which unfortunately only has these two options in Settings.

To access the full list of Settings for Spotify on your Chromebook, you would need to download the Android app by following these stepsHowever, note that as you use your Chromebook at school, you might not be able to add the Google Play Store or download Android apps. If this is the case, you can contact your administrator for more information.

There’s also currently a Live Idea for expanding the list of Settings for the Web Player to include more options. If it’s something you’re interested in, I'd recommend adding your +VOTE to the idea. The more votes an idea gets, the likelier it is that Spotify will implement it, and you can read more about how feedback on ideas reaches Spotify here. You can also Subscribe to the idea by clicking the three dots next to its title; that way you can be sure to be informed of any relevant updates.

Feel free to read more about using Spotify on a Chromebook in this FAQ article, and let me know if you have any other questions.

Have a good day!

I am trying to upload a few songs to Spotify, as they are not already on the app. However my settings only show settings for language and display. I have checked on multiple devices and I don't understand why the other sections are not showing up

Hi there @starshar,

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

Sounds like you're trying to upload local files to your Spotify library, correct? Since you have limited options in Settings, you might be using the Web Player, which doesn't support local files yet, I'm afraid.

I recommend getting the Spotify app instead - you'll find a list of all supported devices in this article. As for the local files, here's a detailed guide on how to upload them to your library.

In case you're an artist and meant uploading your music on the platform check out this article instead.

Hope this clears things up. Cheers 🤘

When I open my settings in the app and website it only gives me the option to change my language and to toggle the play display.

Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out.

Please share screenshots of how it looks within the app and on the website 🙂

Nothing under

Hey @Ellie52,

Thanks for reaching out!

Looking at the screenshot you sent over, it seems like you might be using the Web Player. Keep in mind that not all settings are available on the Web version of Spotify. We can recommend heading over to the desktop app or mobile app for more settings and functions. You can also check which devices that support the app on this page.

On another note, if you'd like to add a playlist to your profile, you should still be able to do it directly through the Web Player (and on the app). Simply right-click the playlist in question > select Add to profile. You can find more details on how to share a playlist here 🙂

Hope this helps & feel free to let us know if you have any questions!
