Invited family member can't find premium account

Invited family member can't find premium account

Hello, I need some help. So I added my sister to my plan and it appears she got in but as she opens spotify it still appears to “get spotify premium. And i check on my account and it does appear as her in it?? What is happening???

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

 

We hope you don't mind us moving your reply. Since you mentioned a different issue, it fits better here in a new thread.
 

From what you kindly mentioned, it seems your sister might have more than one account. We suggest she checks the details of the account she logged into. If she's using the app on a mobile device, she can follow these steps:

  • Tap the picture profile at the top-left of the screen.
  • Go to Settings and privacy
  • At the top, tap Account. There she can find her username and the email linked to her account (if any).

If she isn't certain about the details she used to register on the app, she can go to password reset and enter possible email addresses she owns. If an email is registered with Spotify, she'll get a password reset message for that email.


Note: Keep in mind there are a few ways to sign up, e.g. with email, phone number, Apple, or Google. She can try logging in with these, her Premium account may be linked to one of these options as well.

Thank you, yeah so she did have other account, but she logged in with that one and it still appears to be the same issue

So just to confirm - the other account your sister was able to log in to was on the free version as well? Does it say Spotify Free on her account page here? If that's the case, then she might have a couple of free accounts created at some point in the past. What you can do is double-check what you see on your own account page under Subscription -> Manage members, since her display name should be visible there, as well as a profile picture if she has one. This would help you track down the correct account. 

 

As @AlejaR mentioned, there are other ways to sign up for Spotify, so if she tried logging in with a username/email address and password this time, maybe give Google, Facebook or Apple a try if she thinks she might have used one of those login methods. There are a couple more useful suggestion in this guide, which can be of help here.
