I bought Family Premium and wanted to add my wife. But she can't join. We've tried everything. We deleted her account and created a new one. It's still the same.
Spotify says:
"You need to live at the same address
It looks like you’re trying to join Premium Family from a different country. Premium Family is only available for family members that live together. Try again when you’re at the same address."
😐
Now we are on a business trip to another country. Maybe this is the problem. But anyway, how can I add my wife to the family premium?
I've already spent a lot of time trying to do the trivial, basic thing I paid for! It's awful!
Please, help!
Hey @VP08 ,
Thanks for reaching out.
Generally, you'll both need to make sure that your country setting at https://spotify.com/account matches, so that it is the same on both accounts.
In addition to that, it could also be an issue that she's not in the home country right now, preventing her from accepting the invite. 🙂
Let me know how it goes.
Hello, Maxim! Thank you for your response.
Yes, her account has another country setting, and we cannot change it.
What should we do?
Hey @VP08 ,
Since you mentioned that you're both on a business trip, you'll need to wait until you're in your home country again. 🙂 The right country will be selectable in the dropdown menu once you're back.
I am having the same exact problem. I am trying to add my daughter's account to my Spotify family plan, and even though my address is listed as Japan, and I type hers in identically, it will not let her accept my invite and says we are in different countries. I did originally sign up for my Spotify account over 6 years ago in the United States. Is this the problem - even though I have triple checked and my current address for family is listed as our Japanese address.
Hey @rachlusky ,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
As mentioned in my initial post, you'll need to make sure that your country setting at https://spotify.com/account matches the setting of your daughter's account, so that it is the same on both accounts. Ideally, this should be Japan in your case.
So you're saying that while we are traveling around the world, I won't be able to use the services I've already paid for?!
So Spotify already took the money, but I'll get the service at some point in the future, and we'll end up with 7 months of subscriptions instead of 12 months.
Did I understand you correctly?
Hey @VP08 ,
You can definitely use the service as intended, but have to keep in mind that only accounts who have the same country setting as your account are able to accept invites to your Premium Family plan. 🙂
Once your family member(s) are back in the home country, they'll be able to change their country setting and will then be able to accept your invite.
Hope this clears things up.
Awful. The worst user/customer experience I have ever seen.
