My Question or Issue

I’m having the issue with creating account for my Daughter who is 13 years old. I’m located in Poland and according to https://www.spotify.com/pl/legal/end-user-agreement/#s1 13 years old can use Spotify. However, entering 2011 as year of birth result in an error, the same for every date under 18 yo. Could you help? Right now I need to advise my kids to enter incorrect date of birth.

Hey @pita_atip,

Thanks for coming to the Community 🙂

I've had someone from Spotify take a closer look at this, and it turns out that the minimum age within the terms and conditions is no longer up to date, as the minimum age has actually changed to 16 years of age, so you, unfortunately, won't be able to create an account for your daughter just yet.

Lastly, this discrepancy was passed on to the relevant team at Spotify so that the terms and conditions get updated in the future, so thank you for your report!

Hope this clears things up 🙂

The age requirement for family members is complete nonsense. Take Netflix as an example and add profiles for kids instead of this outdated idea that you can only have your own Spotify account at the age of 16! By then, the kids are almost mature and leaving the house.
