Restricting messaging use

My Question or Issue

I've just found out that my daughter, who has self-harm issues, is able to access the messaging function with a restricted android phone we let her use for playing spotify only. I cannot use the messaging app on an Iphone with IOS 15 so I didn't even know it existed.

I am the account plan manager but cannot see any information about the messaging nor any way of turning it off for her. She has had dangerous interactions with texting etc in past and we are trying to keep her safe. 

Please can somethig be done to enable restrictions of messaging use? 

Our only option is to cancel our Premium family account completely.

Hey folks,

In order to access Messages, users must be aged 16 years and older. Still, we understand where you're coming from as parents, so for a safer and more-controlled environment we recommend creating a Managed account for your child.

Managed accounts can’t access age-restricted features like Messages or music videos tagged as 18+ by rights holders, and give parents additional control over what their child can play on Spotify with the ability to disable video playback, playback for specific artists & songs as well as all explicit content.

At the moment, Managed accounts may not be available globally, but rest assured we're working on expanding the functionality to as many regions as possible.
