Restricting messaging use

My Question or Issue

I've just found out that my daughter, who has self-harm issues, is able to access the messaging function with a restricted android phone we let her use for playing spotify only. I cannot use the messaging app on an Iphone with IOS 15 so I didn't even know it existed.

I am the account plan manager but cannot see any information about the messaging nor any way of turning it off for her. She has had dangerous interactions with texting etc in past and we are trying to keep her safe. 

Please can somethig be done to enable restrictions of messaging use? 

Our only option is to cancel our Premium family account completely.

Thanks for letting me know about this. You won’t have access directly to change settings in her account, however, she is able to opt out of the Messaging feature following these steps:

1. Tap your profile picture in the top corner of your Home screen.
2. Tap on Settings and privacy, then navigate to Privacy and social.
3. Scroll down to the Social features section, and turn the toggle off on the Messages setting.
