What does Basic mean in terms of account types?

What does Basic mean in terms of account types?

I'm in the UK and recently got an email about Family plan updates from Spotify.

I'm already on Premium Family, but it mentioned the new Basic Family.

The main difference I can see is no audiobooks, which is fine.

What I can't understand is what it means by "Up to 6 Basic accounts" in the features.

How does this differ from a Premium account? I can't find any other reference to "Basic" in relation to accounts.

Can anyone help here?

Hey @mnbowley,

Thanks for reaching out.

With the basic plan, all member accounts will be considered Premium Family Basic sub-accounts instead of regular Family sub-accounts.

This means that in the future, if, for example, Audiobooks or other features become available to the regular Family sub-accounts, the Family Basic sub-accounts will not have these features included.

There's currently no difference for members when they're part of a regular or basic Premium Family plan, since Audiobooks are only available to the plan manager in the regular plan.

I hope this clears things up 🙂
