Spotify needs to explain why subscribers should pay full price while the platform fills up with AI-generated music.
I subscribed for artists, musicians, and real creative work, not mass-produced algorithmic tracks designed to game playlists and rack up streams. If AI-generated music is going to be on the platform, then label it clearly, let users filter it out, and stop blending it in as if it’s the same thing.
Why am I paying premium prices to dig through artificial content I never asked for?
I totally agree.
Frankly, I'm thinking about canceling my account. This AI-generated music is so crapy.
I already did. We had family account.
AI is not this presence that has come to deprive you of your intellectual property
Unfortunately for some, music that is generated using AI is capable of being original work
You could create music using AI ... there is nothing stopping you from publishing this creative endeavour and calling it yours. It doesn't matter if it "sounds like" something that was made the old fashioned way

The 2009 Black Eyed Peas album the E.N.D. was developed around the concept that they had found a way to create music by simply writing instructions into a computer. They didn't pluck that idea out of nowhere ... this has already been going on for a long time and if your taste in music is mainstream even in the slightest then chances are you have been sold on AI generated music for a lot longer than you think you have
They told me crocs were horrible back then, but they look exactly the same now and nobody is saying that anymore
Can you relate?
It's not the same thing. I'm refering to the Suno generated tracks that are filling Spotify rapidly. To identify AI generated music, there are already solutions, so there should be way to label, mark and filter such contect on Spotify. https://youtube.com/shorts/2HZ2goxUq9I?is=s-sRUysOPVZFz98G
Even if they won't remove this from the platform they need to at least add a filter so that those of us who have no interest in non-human 'art' have an option to not be subjected to it and be inadvertently part of taking streaming revenue away from real creatives. This is especially true of the playlists they create based on my listening habits.
Hi everyone, thanks for posting about this in the Community.
There is an active idea in the Community that you can vote for which proposes an idea for AI-generated content to be labeled in Spotify, I'm dropping the link here: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Live-Ideas/Ai-generated-content-should-be-labeled/idi-p/7297856
In the meantime, there is an article published on the Spotify Newsroom website which explains what measures Spotify have taken with regard to AI on their platform. You can read it here: https://newsroom.spotify.com/2025-09-25/spotify-strengthens-ai-protections/. In particular, you might be interested in the April 2026 update.
I know there's a wider question regarding AI in the music industry and on streaming platforms, but for the time being this is all the information that Spotify seems to have shared.
Hope that helps 🙂
