Ban Joe Rogan now!

Profiting from the distribution of deadly misinformation is immoral and shameful! I am a paying subscriber and if you don't remove him I will leave.Profiting from the distribution of deadly misinformation is immoral and shameful! Another paying subscriber leaving Spotify for a platform that supports the art of music and not Faux News. Ps. It was easy to find a way to export my playlists.

Do you think Joni's blackface phase is what inspired Trudeau?

Funny how none of the people taking a stand are doing it in the way they got famous for... by writing music. I wonder why 🤔

Both of these "artists" should go on Joe Rogan's show and tell the world, in their own words, why they think being able to speak freely is so very dangerous. Something tells me they don't have the first clue what they're talking about... much like the people in these threads.

That letter that inspired Neil Young? Total nonsense: fewer than 100 of them were actual doctors practicing medicine. It was a hoax designed for this exact purpose. If anything, you should be mad for being misled by the mainstream media pushing this lie (who is just jealous JR gets more viewers than they do.. that's all this is about, and you're simply a tool being used in the process).

There is plenty of "questionable" content/artists on Spotify that none of you seemed to have an issue with until you were told to by corporate media. Leaving Spotify for another platform isn't going to solve anything, as those problematic artists are there too. Think about that for 2 seconds.

BTW: were you aware that in 1931 a booklet of writings from authors and scientists against Einstein's Theory of Relativity was published titled Hundert Autoren gegen Einstein (Hundred Authors against Einstein)?

I can just imagine both Neil Young and Blackface Joni tripping over themselves to contribute to that.

ALSO: Ignaz Semmelweis, the guy who first theorized that hand-washing could prevent "childbirth fever" (Puerperal fever) at a time when 1 out of 100 women died in/after childbirth, also had many influential men criticize his findings.

I guess I can see why Joni might not want to wash her hands after spending all that time blacking up, but I wonder how many of you would scoff at the idea just because someone famous told you to... hmmm, starting to see why you think Joe is so dangerous.

Maybe you need to stop valuing the supposed opinions of celebrities so much and actually do some of the work needed in finding the truth yourself.

Thanks for allowing freedom of speech Spotify! I do not consult with celebrities on medical advice; therefore, celebrities viewpoint of Joe Rogan spreading misinformation is invalid and abuse of their fame. I standby freedom of speech. Joe Rogan’s guests are medical professionals. I appreciate hearing the other side of the coin besides what mainstream media is feeding. I will formulate my own viewpoints on what is being reported. I don’t need Spotify filtering content for me.

Just made an account at deezer (three month free trial) then used soundbiiz to migrate content (4,50EU if paid monthly). As for spotify: go to your account and chance from premium (or whatever you got) to Free spotify.

Cheers

I agree but will give Spotify a few weeks to reassess and address this issue.  Additional musicians and high-profile people are speaking out about this, so maybe that will have an impact - and hopefully comments from Spotify customers will carry some weight.  I appreciate Spotify's extensive music catalog and hope they find a way to resolve this problem.  If they don't resolve by taking all of his podcasts down or implementing a third-party fact checking program, warning about his misinformation, and reducing its distribution, I'll close my Spotify account.

How about no?

You petty supporters of tyrants are as short-sighted as you are uneducated; never realizing into whose pockets you are playing.

In western societies we have something called freedom; but it is certainly not free.

I have recently had the sniffles - confirmed COVID positive - and can tell you that it's time to get over it. The common cold has existed since the dawn of man. Screaming about "saving lives" is hyperboli.

Get over it.

Well, many vulnerable people believe in what is being said on those shows. Therefore it is very harmful. In any case, with freedom comes responsibility.

Neil young sucks and is an irrelevant crusty old hypocrite who needs to just crawl under a rock a die already!

I totally agree with the comments above. I am a physician and music lover but integrity is more important than music and I will cancel my Spotify Premium account if Spotify does not do a better job of rooting out dangerous misinformation especially about Covid vaccination safety and effectiveness. I will see what happens over the next 48-72 hours to see if Spotify changes its tune but I DEFINITELY WILL CANCEL MY SPOTIFY SUBSCRIPTION IF THERE IS NO ACTION AGAINST THE JOE ROGAN PODCAST IN THE NEXT 48-72 HOURS! PERIOD!

Can’t hold all the gullible idiots in this worlds hands all the time! I’m vaccinated, but I believe in freedom, freedom of choice and freedom of speech even if I don’t like what people have to say I respect their right to say it! People need to go live in China and North Korea they want censorship like they are calling for on Rogan, also I don’t listen to Rogan, but clearly with his following people like what he does and has to say!

Sounds like y’all should just pack up your bags and head to China or North Korea if you love peoples opinions being censored if they don’t line up with your opinions! But you’re all welcome to your opinions as well, but if you say you support free speech that means you have to support it even if you don’t like it, if I don’t like what someone is saying I just don’t listen to them simple as that I don’t call for them to be cancelled or censored. This world is going insane, we’re all slowly killing our own freedoms!

One nice thing about Spotify, they don't bend over when the man tells them to censor somebody. Neil Young and Joni Mitchell should be ashamed of themselves. They are a disgrace to Canadians everywhere. Particularly, those who are right now braving freezing temperatures in Ottawa to resist tyrannical medical mandates. What happened to you two?

😒

Very difficult to discuss anything about Covid now without it getting political. Joe Rogan gave the floor to some world renowned medical experts so they could talk about it. Since when is this a bad thing?

Used to like Neil and Joni until they went all in on the censorship and cancel culture. I doubt very much they did this on their own. They were probably pressured by corporate interests. In other words, the man. Disgraceful. Maybe they should move to a free country like China and see how that works out.

For the critics of Joe Rogan, have any of you even listened to his podcasts with Robert Malone and McCullough? There is a reason why people tune into Joe Rogan's podcasts. He brings in world renowned experts and discusses important issues in a 3 hour podcast format.

Both Malone and McCullough provided amazing information that you will never hear anywhere else. Why don't you listen to the podcasts and point out exactly where there is misinformation?

Hi Dano86, with all due respect, with that kind of logic, everyone should be able to drive as fast as they want on any road anywhere because of your “freedom” to do so and if any other drivers didn’t like it they could just stay off the roads. Sorry, but 60% plus of the population agrees with public health based on science and any decent course in Logic at the high school or college level would make it obvious that science is what has brought civilization to as far as it has gotten. As for why boycotting a product that allows disinformation that demonstrably causes death (from people not getting vaccinated and acting irresponsibly in public settings), media like popular podcasts that reject science need to be exposed and made to pay for the damage they allow to occur. But thank you for the dialogue!

Wow, did any of Joe Rogan's detractors even listen to his podcasts with real doctors? Listen and then point out where the misinformation is. Love both Neil and Joni as musicians. But I don't appreciate their censorship, cancel culture approach to discussion about an important issue. One thing I love about Spotify is they don't censor people who have something important to say.  People should listen to the JRE podcasts and make up their own minds.

I am curious if anyone else has run into this issue. I have recently listened to the Joe Rogan Experience. Regardless of any one persons opinion on freedom of speech versus censoship and where the line is drawn I would like to ask this. Why is there no report function listed for his show? What if someone truly listened to something that was said and found it to fall outside the community standards laid out by Spotify? I bring this up not in broad strokes for his show but for the fact that he has said things that are, depending on your perspective, racist.

I ask this not in anger or as a way to "Cancel Joe Rogan" but because I feel that a double standard exists. Why can I report another persons playlist, or even other people but I am shut down when I ask about this for his podcast? I can vouch for trying to bring this to the attention of the help line and being shut down as soon as "The Joe Rogan Experience" was brought up in the chat. As soon as his podcast was brought up I was sent a note back saying something to the effect that customer service is here to help with technical issues and account issues and that this did not fall to that category.
