Bring back Crossfade for Spotify Free users on Desktop

Hi Spotify Team and Community,

I am writing this because I am very disappointed about a recent change. The crossfade feature on the desktop app used to work perfectly for Free users, but it has recently been blocked or restricted behind the Premium paywall.

Crossfade is a basic audio feature that has been part of the desktop experience for years. Removing core functionalities that users rely on to enjoy their playlists (like Liked Songs) does not motivate people to upgrade; it just ruins the user experience and drives loyal users away to other platforms.

Please consider reversing this decision and bringing crossfade back for everyone. Music is meant to flow seamlessly!

Well said, Lucas. Taking away features we’ve relied on for years isn't the way to go. If nothing else, Spotify should at least keep crossfade free for desktop players. Hopefully the team listens to the community on this.
