Forced music exchange

It seems to me for a while now, Spotify likes to intrude on my playlist slipping in their own suggestions in-between a playlist I have curated.  If I want to explore new music I have plenty of sources. Not liking this issue. Not to mention, if I have my playlist on long enough, it seems to me, after time, Spotify will route me elsewhere, to their own curated playlist. Do not like this either.  What gives??!! Not happy.

Are you using the 'shuffle button' in the correct way? Option 1 enables Spotify to come with their suggestions for your playlist (button lights green), option 2 will shuffle through your playlist without Spotify suggestions (button lights green again), and option 3 will play your playlist, starting with the first song on your list, then the second, etc, without Spotify suggestions (button will not light up, stays gray).
