Ripped off by spotify

I recently noticed 2 payments to spotify from my bank account. 1 for £9.99 and another for 16.99.

On further inspection I realised I've been paying this since December 2020.

I contacted spotify to inform them of the mistake, and even though the single account (£9.99) hasn't been used since Dec 2020, they will only offer a 3 month refund. Surely this is another case of rip off Britain. I'm so infuriated by this.

Well spotify, you've lost a loyal customer as I've also cancelled my family account, which I would have kept going for many years to come.

Shame on you spotify

i pay R65 pm for single premium, it went off twice this month I need a refund

Similar situation here. Used free trial and got no warning or reminder to cancel. I see the charge and try to cancel the SAME DAY, they will only point to their small print and refuse. I’ve never experienced this with any other subscription service. I guess they really just want a one time payment because I will certainly never use Spotify again. What a rip off.

"Let's blame 'random online company like Spotify' for my own neglect" seems to be getting popular these days. Then again, when more and more parents hold barely any consequences for bad behavior because "honest online videos" I am not surprised anymore.

Unless you have proof that someone else agreed with the Spotify contract... you have no one else to blame but yourself. And I'm really getting tired of stuff like this.

CONTEXT => This isn't just about Spotify for me, this now is just my convenient outlet to speak up. I see the same stuff about others like DAZN (NFL gamepass FTW!), Netflix, Amazon (Prime) (if you want to talk about deceiving... Amazon takes the cake IMNSHO).

The reason I react this way?  Easy => Back in last year Spotify made me an offer I couldn't resist (and no horse heads ;)). 3 months free. See, here's the thing: the very first thing I did? Was to look up the details, the subscription details and I have screenshots (!!) => I could decline the offer in December, and still enjoy until March.

Don't tell Spotify staff, but rumor has it that I did just that, then got convinced by my gf not to and we've been paying for our own ever happily after since.  (gf got her own account, upgraded around March or so).

IMO You're blaming "the company" for your own shortcomings, assuming they don't talk back. And the reason they won't is because they respect their customers, even to (once again: IMO) ridiculous levels.

Aya & me pay E 12,99 each, and in our opinion it's more than well worth it.  My motto? => "You never truly experienced Spotify if you didn't have a JAM with a special someone".

Once again: no offense intended, but... this is my take and my believe. I think companies like Spotify (and others! such as Dazn, Electronic Arts, Ziggo?) they get way too much unfair slack sometimes. I'm not a Spotify fanboy (then again....) but ...  meh, my 2 cents.
