Getting Artist ID base on Artist Name

const response = await fetch(`https://api.spotify.com/v1/search?q=${artistName}&type=artist&limit=1`

to get artist ID. But it is getting the wrong artist... for example artistName is George Benson and it return wes Montgomery. artistName is Thelonious Monk but I got Bill Evans. Help why is this happening? Is it API error or? Thank you
