Play a track without clearing queue?

My Question or Issue

I am working on a website and it is incredibly frustrating that the https://api.spotify.com/v1/me/player/play endpoint clears the users autoplay/currently playing queue. What can I do to prevent the queue being cleared when I want to play a track?

Essentially what I want to do is insert a track in the user's queue and play it immediately, but I can't find any endpoint that lets me insert a track to the beginning of the queue.
