My Question or Issue

The Get New Releases API (https://developer.spotify.com/documentation/web-api/reference/get-new-releases) is only returning items over a month old.

Just came here looking to see if anyone else had noticed this. It hasn't updated since that week (have been checking weekly). First result is tortured poets department, and that has been the first since it came out.

I think I encountered this issue too, I didn't know it was an "old" issue. I'm retrying every day and the results do not change that much at all, although I do get results from may.

Chiming in as I'm also seeing this. I've been playing around with the API lately and the newest releases I'm seeing are still from 2024-04-19, and we're into July now. I thought I was missing something.

In mid-September now, and I am still experiencing this issue. I've rotated my client secret several times, as well as creating a completely new application to see if it'd fix it, it didn't. Any ETA on a fix?

I reached out to Spotify's development team in July about this and they said, "The team investigated the issue and releases are not stuck on April for them. Would you mind checking again if it's still happening on your end?" After I responded, showing the proof that it was, its been radio silence since.

This is what the Spotify API for new releases sends back to me in production. It's completely out-of-date. However, in development it actually sends back correct, up-to-date information. There is definitely an issue.Screenshot 2024-10-17 14.25.29.png

Is there any plan to fix this, or should we treat this api route as deprecated?

I'm also blocked by this endpoint being broken. Can we get an ETA on a fix or a heads-up that it is deprecated?

It's been 9 months. Either they don't want to allow access to this API anymore, they simply refuse to fix it, or it is fixed, but they never pushed the fix. Pretty bummed 😕 Hoping it's fixed soon!!
