Can prepaid premium plan be extended by 1 year?

My Question or Issue

I bought my 1 year premium plan for 1189 INR. Now it's available only for 699 INR. Can I buy it for 699 now and extend my plan by 1 year?

I already talked to Spotify support chat and they told me I cannot use this but @SpotifyCares on Twitter told me I can do that. I'm confused.

We can confirm that you should be able to claim the discounted annual offer (which is available until December 31) even as an existing Premium subscriber.
