My Question or Issue
It’s been months now since i invited someone under my duo premium account, but they can’t access premium benefits after accepting. I was advised to remove and invite them again, but still. I’ve been paying for this duo subscription for months without having it’s benefits
Hey @Mnkandla,
Thanks for reaching out.
Please ask the plan member to log in at https://spotify.com/account - does the page say that they're on Free or Premium (part of your Duo plan)?
Let me know 🙂
It’s still saying the same
Hey @Mnkandla,
Thank you for keeping in contact.
Jumping in just to mention that if the other user is still not able to join your plan, it's possible that you've another member already joined. To check on this, we'd recommend following these steps:
If the user who joined your plan is not the one you're currently inviting, you can remove it from there and invite the correct user to join.
In case the other user still has issues joining your plan, it's also worth checking if they're part of another Premium plan or owner of one as they cannot have 2 active subscriptions.
Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.
Thanks for confirming, @Mnkandla!
In that case it's possible that your Duo partner has another Spotify account which they're logging to unknowingly. I'd advise them to log out from all devices they're using and sign back in with their Premium account's login details instead.
If they own a smart speaker, they should make sure to unlink the current account and connect the correct one after logging in.
Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes. 👍
Hey @Mnkandla,
Thanks for your reply.
We understand that they only have one device, so in this case, they'd need to log out from their account on that device and try to log back in making sure they're using the right details.
As @Yordan mentioned previously, it's possible that they have another account on Spotify where they accepted the invite from, and that's why they don't see the benefits of the Premium subscription on their main account. To check if they have more than one account on Spotify, could you ask them to follow these steps?
Let us know how it goes.
