How to Change Plan from Individual to Students?

How to Change Plan from Individual to Students?

Currently I am using premium individual, and it's only three days left until my subscription expired. I also verified as a student, so I decided to change my plan to student, which is way more cheaper than individual.

The thing is, I've followed the instructions to change my plan in app, but everytime I tap "student", the server always unable to connect. So I cancel my subscription in Google Play. And I will subscribe to student plan one day after my individual plan expired.

But it's way too complicated and I've also downloaded 2000 songs. I know that after my subscription expired all my downloaded songs will be erased and I don't want to redownload them all. Is there any way to change my plan without waiting until my plan expired?

Hey @Dzaki_Khairan,

Thanks for reaching out.

I recommend making sure you've tried to complete all the steps that are required to get Premium Student. You can find those steps here.

If you did and the issue persists, then it's most likely because of your current payment method. In such case, you would have to wait until your current subscription ends and your account reverted back to Spotify free.

When your account reverts back to the free plan, any offline music will be removed from your device(s), but can be re-downloaded at any time when on Premium again (and WiFi is recommended for that).

If you keep the Spotify app completely closed during the time you're on the free plan, you might be able to prevent the offline music from being removed. You can always check your plan status at https://spotify.com/account

I hope this helps 🙂
