My Question or Issue

I have tried to connect my Spotify with my Hulu account but I don’t see that my Hulu account is being paid through Spotify, is there a way to reconnect it or should I just delete my Spotify account and reconnect after?

Thanks for your reply.

 

When connecting your Hulu account, you should get prompted to switch the billing to Spotify, so something must've gone awry during the process. In this case, it's best to cancel your subscription and wait for your Spotify account to revert to free before re-subscribing and linking the Hulu account again. 

 

No worries, you won't lose any of your saved music when doing this, you'll just need to redownload your playlists for offline listening.

Thanks for reaching out!

 

Can you check if Hulu is activated on your services page? If it's activated you should see a button called Start Watching. Do you see it and what happens if you click on it?

 

If you've activated the wrong Hulu account, you'd need to cancel your subscription and re-subscribe to activate the correct account. 

 

Note: After you cancel, you need to wait for your plan to switch to free before re-subscribing.

In terms of the subscriptions it does show start watching but the account is connects to says that it’s on a free trial and will start billing to a different credit card then on Spotify. Should I just cancel my Spotify account? if so is there a way to save playlists and such?

Hi Dessi, 

I see Hulu listed as an active service but when I click start watching it takes me to Hulu to pick a subscription. I’ve had this bundle for years and have never been kicked out of Hulu before. Can you troubleshoot this?

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community!

 

When logging in to Hulu your email address should be the same as the one you use for Spotify so we'd recommend checking if that's the case and if not, it'd be best to reach out to the folks over at Hulu Support to see if they can help with that.

I have had this same issue and the customer service chat at Hulu told me that I did not have an account under the email that I've been receiving Hulu service through for years. However, if I go to their page, I can log in to my account using my Spotify information, but it tells me to choose a subscription. The customer service reps at Hulu say this is not their issue and that I need to reach out to Spotify since they are in charge of the billing and this is their issue. I've gone back and forth between both companies now and am still unable to log back into or access my Hulu subscription. I may just cancel my Spotify subscription and wash my hands of it all. 

I have this same issue. Subscribed to Spotify premium with Hulu, absolutely no way to connect the two accounts. Online instructions from Spotify mention an Activate Hulu button on the Account page that doesn’t exist, and the Services page just links to Hulu where I can pick a Disney+ bundle… no option to activate with spotify

@Chrisciple, the "Activate" button should also be showing up on Your Services. In case you see "Start Watching" instead,, you can try linking your accounts again through this page instead, preferably by using an incognito/private window in your browser on a desktop device.

 

If the issue persists, it's possible that your login credentials for the linked Hulu account are different than the ones you use for Spotify. It's worth entering all possible email addresses you might have used when signing up in this tool to see if that helps you locate the correct one, or you can instead reach out to Hulu Support directly via the link above provided by @Dessi.

 

Hope this gets sorted out. The Community is here if something else comes up in the meantime.

Im also having this issue. I followed the exact steps and even watched a few videos on how to find this activation, yet the activation is still not there. I am on the student premium plan, never had a Hulu account before, and I live in the US.
