I can't use a VOUCHER on my Premium Duo plan

My Question or Issue

Following the advice of a colleague, I have purchased a voucher (not a gift card) but I can't validate it.

When I try to, I receive the message that the voucher (.DE) can't be used in my country. But the colleague who advised me did it a day before and had absolutely no issue. His Spotify account is also in Austria.

I bought the voucher in Austria, using Austrian Airline frequent flyer programme which is actually joined to Lufthansa Airlines, thus the voucher assigned to DE, even though I did not buy it there. And there is no option for me to select Spotify.at when redeeming my Austrian miles.

I tried to set my account to Germany but the option was blocked (greyed).

What shall I do ?

This voucher you mentioned works like a gift card. In this case, it's not possible to redeem it if your account is using the Duo plan. In this case, you'll only be able to redeem this code for the standard Premium plan (the individual one).
If you want to, you need to cancel your current Duo subscription, then once your account is reverted to the Free tier, you can try to redeem the "voucher" again.

I just did it.

Kicked my wife out of the Premium Duo (now I will have to explain her the why), reverted to Premium Individual and...

I was afraid of that: I still can't use the Voucher...

"Der Gutscheincode, den Du eingegeben hast, ist ungültig in Deinem Land."

This is what I get now: The voucher is not vallid in my country.

As always, it seems Austria is too small and the voucher I got seems to be valid only in Germany...

I really feel frustrated !

Super sorry for not getting back to you earlier... I was trying to find a solution backstage, but unfortunately, considering your voucher/gift card was acquired in another country, using it on your account (that is issued in another country) isn't possible. Considering these codes are provided by a third party, there isn't anything Spotify can do on its side. In this case, the most recommendable is that you reach out to the company from which you got the voucher and try to find a solution with them, like a refund or a new voucher (issued in the same country your account is in).

Sorry for not being able to provide you with a better solution this time...

I'll try to do that (ask for a replacement for Vouchers valid in Austria,
which I believe they cannot do, or ask for a refund, which I believe they
will not do)
So basically I will end up stuck with my 3x 60 € vouchers which *I have not*
purchased in a different country.
My Spotify account is in Austria and I purchased them in Austria.

This self limitation from Spotify is terribly frustrating !
