every time i try get a premium individual it keeps saying im not eligible but won't tell me why?

I’m in the same situation! I have paid for Spotify premium for several years with excellent service. Today in the car I had annoying adverts which indicated that I’d been relegated to Spotify free! I tried to return to premium but it says I’m not eligible! I’m very disappointed as I’ve enjoyed the service for a long time. Please help.

Ive recently moved countries and a payment is due for my premium individual account.
Unfortunately, nothing is helping solve this issue. Ive tried switching countries and it’s telling me i’m not eligible for the individual plan. I’ve tried different network connections, a different payment card, incognito, and on a computer absolutely nothing is working. If anyone could help me on this? also have tried cancelling the plan but that isn’t working either.

Thanks for the reply. What do you mean exactly when you say that cancelling the plan didn't work? For this, you'll have to wait until the next billing date in order for your account to revert to free. When that happens, you can change the country on your account directly as shown here. Then, you should be able to resubscribe with a payment method from your new country.

Hi everyone, I was experiencing the same issue and the last comment helped me sorting it out:
- logging out of all devices
- choose the duo plan (when it says that the individual plan is not available)
- Then click on "change plan" before the payment page
- the individual plan becomes available again

i have the same issue. I can't renew my premium plan. I moved to the USA from Canada and can't change the country of my account. I can't update the payment details despite having an account fro probably more than 6 years.
Can I have a direct help or someone contacting me directly please?

I’m having this same issue with it saying I’m not eligible for Spotify premium individual and nothing that was recommended has worked for me but i need this fixed relatively soon as I’ve got a long flight and need some music to get me through it

Could you give it another try using this link instead? Just make sure you're logged in to the correct account and the country at the bottom of the page matches that of your account.
You can also try to change your plan from your account page > Manage your plan. To make sure a payment goes through successfully, I recommend checking out this article and following the steps there.

I have moved country and am trying to update my card information so that I can pay. This means I have to change my location as it wont accept my Australian card. However it will not allow me to continue my individual plan, saying that I am not eligible. I have tried to do this in a private browser, etc and followed advice given above but nothing will work.
I am shocked that a company like Spotify can't solve such a simple problem!
The first message in this thread was in 2021! Two and a half years have passed with no fixes during this time, only common advice about using incognito mode and so on, which of course doesn't help.
To solve this problem, I had to purchase the Duo plan first and then change it to Individual. In the end, I spent more money than I was supposed to, and spent about an hour reading this thread and following these stupid common pieces of advice.

I'm having the same issue. I'm currently on Premium Duo, but I'm now the only person using the account, so I want to go down to individual, but it tells me I'm not eligible. I've tried the link posted in the replies. I've tried different internet connections, private browsers, and clearing my cache and cookies. Nothing works.
I need to change country and my card but when i change country it said that I dont meet the requirements for the individual plan

Hi, I'm having trouble facing the same problem. I have tried the premium trial for a week and now I wanted to subscribe to premium plan. But I'm unable to do so, as all the plans are termed only for the new subscribers.

I am having the exact same issue, says I am not eligible for a premium plan all of a sudden had one for over 3 years now never had any issues until now. I've tried all the stuff that was said to and still unable to get my premium back. I'm shocked that a company like Spotify can't get this resolved. I use my account all the time and now I can't very frustrating. Please help me get this resolved or tell me how to get all my music out of Spotify so I can put it some where else.
