Dear Spotify!
I use a Visa Electron card. If I want to pay with it, I have to top it up with money first, which lasts for 1 day, then it is automatically reset. It's a great and secure way to pay online.
Unless someone wants to charge the card at random, unpredictable times. You lost me several times as a paying user because this attitude drives me crazy. There is nothing wrong with the card details, I don't want to re-enter them just to have a subscription for another month. Or keep loading the card daily so that at some point I can just get a charge. This solution goes against the point of the card.
So, how about you guys finally make a [PAY NOW] button that when I press it, it starts the charge. I don't think that the cost of this would not be covered by the fact that dear users would not leave the pay solution because of the lack of this solution.
Hey @rotkiw,
Thanks for reaching out.
If your card doesn't support subscriptions with recurring charges, it's best to cancel your subscription right after getting Premium, in order to prevent any unexpected charges and issues from happening.
Alternatively, you could also purchsse a Spotify Gift Card from an authorized merchant and to pay for the Gift Card you could use your Visa Electron card as well.
I hope this clears things up 🙂
I'm sorry, but you clearly don't understand the problem...
Hey @rotkiw,
I do, don't worry 🙂
Keep in mind that the payment date for subscriptions isn't random, and is usually made on the same billing date every month, which you can check here at any time.
When the payment fails, Spotify notifies you through a notification within the app and via email and will retry charging your payment method after around 24-72 hours to prevent your account from reverting back to the Free plan.
Now let's get back to your initial question about manually forcing the payment using a button, for example. There's no such feature at the moment, so you would have to re-enter your payment method info every time.
However, some users have already posted ideas for this, and you can check out one of them here. You'll be able to add your vote and feedback there as well. 🙂
In addition to that, you could also create a new idea if the one I linked doesn't fully cover your idea.
I hope this helps!
Hi @Maxim,
1, i can't see any date in here: https://www.spotify.com/hu/account/manage-your-plan/

Hey @rotkiw,
Please share a screenshot of how the page looks on your end 🙂 It should state a billing date.
