Hi, I'm a citizen in a different country from the one I'm studying in. The problem is my native country has a cheaper price for spotify premium than the one I'm studying in (UK). If I try to register through my own country, the system doesn't let me enter my university, as I'm assuming it expects me to pay the higher fee. The difference is quite a bit for me as I am struggling to support myself as it is. Is there any way to register that I am a student, but from a different country from where my university is located?

I believe if you do the method through logging into your university from spotify with your email and password, it doesn't matter if you're a citizen of one country studying in another. I know that advice was vague but get back to me about what happens.
