Changing playlist sort on iPhone

My Question or Issue

My playlist has started appearing sorted as Artist Name instead of Custom Order. I do not remember changing the order, but more importantly, how do I change it back? I have not been able to find anything about changing the playlist order on mobile, but on my computer, it is still on Custom Order. Is there any way to change the playlist back to Custom Order on mobile?

Hey @aroundth3bend, welcome to the Spotify Community! 🎵

You can definitely sort it back to however you like by using the options available here. Just open the playlist and there should be a sort button above the songs. Make sure your app is updated to the latest version from the app store.

If that doesn't work, please share a screenshot so I can take a better look. Feel free to hide any personal info. 🙂

The sort button does not show up on mine. I made sure that the app is updated. I could be remembering wrong, but I feel like that option used to be there. 😕

Some features are limited in the free version of Spotify which is why you are not able to see/ use the sort option. The desktop app, however, still has these sorting options even on free.

hi, I have the same issue.. 550 songs and I have the latest added songs at the bottom.

Paid user.. updated the apps.. sort function not visible. What can I do?

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community! 

Just to make sure that we're on the same page - are you missing the option to sort in personal playlists, specifically in Liked songs or overall? Have you tried swiping downwards to see if you can find the sorting option above the playlist?

I can see that you've done some troubleshooting, have you also tried clearing cache and logging out and back in a few times in a row? If that's not the case, you can check if that will make any difference. 

In case you're still having trouble after that, feel free to send us your device's model and OS version together with your Spotify version so we can get a better overview.
