New to Spotify. I've spent hours moving my "favorites" on Google Play Music to my Liked Songs on Spotify. Is there a way to share my Liked Songs or move them to a Playlist?
Plan: Premium
Country: USA
Device: iPhone 11 Pro Max
Solved! Go to Solution.
If I create a new playlist with all my songs selected (ctrl+a, right-click, add to playlist, create playlist), on mobile I get a blank tab at the top of my library that says "This playlist isn't available - The owner of this playlist has made it private or removed it from Spotify" when I click on it.
If I create a playlist first, then add all the songs into it, the playlist shows up on desktop, but it's empty on mobile with no cover image. Renaming the playlist title on desktop only changes the title on mobile.
Hey there @Wyrmwind,
Thanks for your reply.
Could you try copying the songs in small batches instead of all at once to see if that makes the difference?
We'll be on the lookout.
After wasting time trying the usual solutions and IFTT, tunemymusic.com finally solved my problem. Surprising Spotify still cannot figure out a solution for such a basic functionality.
Absolutely blank. Take a look yourself, or alternatively try it yourself, and you would see.
The Issue: I was having the same issue as JacksonCampbell . I had about 3,300 songs in my liked songs and tried copying them over into a playlist, and it worked initially in the Spotify app on PC; however, after I copied the link and tried to open it on my web browser and mobile app it displayed an empty playlist.
**EDIT** Please check my next post, I explained how I got it to work.
The Solution: After checking the Spotify mobile app and on the web browser about 2 hours later, the playlist was showing every song I added. I'm assuming if you use "Ctrl+A" in your liked songs it's just going to take some time for everything to sync over. For what reason, I don't know, but I'm glad it finally worked. The time it took for me was with my device being right next to the router, so I'm sure the time will vary depending on your wifi/cellular service.
I need some help asap!!!
So, I have Spotify Web Player on my Chromebook as well as my Windows laptop. The problem is that I have about 1000 songs in my "Liked Songs" and I need to put them in a playlist. I searched all over the internet how to do this and saw a lot of control+A and shift and click and control and select, but none of them are working!!! I really need some help please 😞
Also, does anyone know how to share a playlist with someone so that they can also add songs to it? I was able to send the playlist, but they were not able to modify or add any songs to it.
Hey @EM81,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
On the Windows PC, are you using the desktop app or the web player? For that to work you'll need the desktop app.
The way I would do it is:
1. Zoom out the desktop app so you can get a bigger chunk of songs from the Liked Songs from the three dots at the upper left corner -> View -> zoom out to a comfortable level
2. Select the first song in the visible chunk, hold the SHIFT key pressed and select the last song.
3. Add the selected bunch to a playlist with a right click on any song from the selected ones.
4. Scroll down and repeat with the next part.
On the second question about Collaborative playlists, you can find out more on this page.
Hope this helps,
Cheers!
This works. Note that you have to be on a computer and accessing Spotify from the app. If you're on mobile or accessing through the website, this won't work.
Try playing one of the songs a bit further down the list (I scrolled down a little until I was about 20 songs in) and then hit ctrl+A while the song is playing. I was originally having the same problem as you, but this seemed to fix it.
Not working for me either.
Hey there @Jwohl,
Thanks for the post.
Can you let us know if you're trying to do this on the Desktop app and if both Ctrl+A and Clicking a song > holding down Shift > clicking another song don't work? It would be helpful if you let us know if the songs get marked at all.
Cheers.
Thanks for reaching out. Yes I'm on a desktop. I thought I could select all the songs at once. But I can't even select a song by Ctrl + A. I see now that I can click on the ... to the right of each song and assign it to a playlist. I'd rather not go thru all 100 of my songs that way but I may if that's all I can get to work. Thanks again.
Hi @Jwohl,
Thank you for your reply.
Can you confirm if you're actually on the app or if you're using our web browser version as this isn't possible while being on our web browser version?
It would also be great if you could provide us some screenshots or a recording so that we can have a closer look from your end.
We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Have a great Friday and start of your weekend 🙂
On windows desktop, works exactly like the solution presented and there is no 50 or 100 song limits, works on all refardless of the number of liked songs in your list. The steps that you may have missed are: Create a new play list, then bring up you "Liked Songs" and highlight (don't play that song) at least one liked song in your "Liked Songs", then do Control A. Grab the highlighted page of songs and drag to left side to your previously created new playlist. This worked with 385 songs when I did this on 10/26/2022. Cheers
I can select all my liked songs and try to move them to a single playlist, then Spotify proceeds to do nothing with it just giving me the error: "Something went wrong." without any details to work with. I know, it's 10000 songs, maybe too many but I'm just left without any alternatives
Hey folks,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
If you're having issues transferring a big number of tracks to a playlist, please try splitting them in a few batches as suggested above.
If it still doesn't work, try using a different desktop device.
Keep us posted.
such a non solution, this should straight up be listed as a bug. Moving a lot of songs is really tedious work, please do better
