My Question or Issue
When searching for personalized playlists, Google Assistant devices re-direct to random albums with similar names.

I've got a routine within the Google Home app to “shuffle my daily mix 3 on Spotify”

Until mid April it worked as expected, recently it’s starting playing Daily Drive. I’ve messed around with the wording & sometimes it plays songs recommend to me (Based on the album Daily Mix 3 by Luis Masters) but will no longer play the thing I’m after.. My daily mix 3.

This has been an issue in the past with the album by Luis masters, I got around it by changing the wording but no luck this time.

Can this be looked into please.

Hey everyone,

Thank you for your messages and for making us aware of this behavior.

To investigate this again on our side, @chrixar, @marcolopespt and @Tagro1 include the following info in your next response:

- Your device info (make/model) and OS version

- Exact Spotify version

Also, and if possible; could any of you record a short video where we can take a better look? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).

We'll be on the lookout for your response.

Works for me too.

Not for me.

It worked for few days and then back to abnormality!

I use the voice commands everyday, several times a day.

Searching for anything on the google home is useless. I will say “play song name by artist name” and it will just pick a random song or artist that has a similar name and play one of them.

Yes... it's STILL broken!!!

This is nonsense!

I ask Spotify to enlighten us!!

Is this an issue caused by Spotify or Google (or BOTH?)

Not even Google HOME routines WORK!

If i say "Sleep" (i have a routine named Sleep) the device says "Playing Spotify playlist called Sleep"!!!! That's NOT what's supposed to happen! It should "play" the ROUTINE, not a Spotify playlist!

So... nothing was fixed. Is that so hard to do? You did it before!!! Why the delay??

My devices are useless and i need to know who's fault this is!

Is there any more info about potential fixes? I just named my playlist "My jazz classics" in my native language (polish) to make the playlist super distinctive, and the routines played the polish "bajm" band, not even closely related to my playlist or the name... I tried everything, even the spotify URL to the exact playlist...

Dang. It's working now... smh.

NO! Sorry... it's NOT working!!! (i test this EVERY day!)

VOICE commands PRIORITY should be:

1) ROUTINES!!!

2) MUSIC!!!

a) Personal PLAYLISTS!

b) Public PLAYLISTS!

c) LP's and SONGS

Any of those SHOULD BE OVERRIDED by a "complete command" like:

1) "Execute / play the SLEEP routine" (no... it plays the SLEEP PLAYLIST!!!!)

2) "Play the Spotify PLAYLIST called Discover Weekly" (no... it plays the XXXXXXX LP!!!)

So... the priority is WRONG when issuing a simple command (ex: "Play Discover Weekly" or "Sleep")

And the worst part... the command is NOT executed correctly when issuing a complete command!!

But Google / Spotify already KNOW this!!!

This was ALREADY FIXED!

STOP messing with this please!!!

This is mess renders the devices almost USELESS!

Mine started working but has now stopped working again as of 2 weeks ago.

Any news on this FIX?

Why is it taking so long to fix this time?

ANYONE??

This is still broken!

A total mess!!!

I have a theory about this issue.

I spoke with Spotify AGAIN over the weekend and they advised me that their techs are working on it. I advised them its been ongoing for too long at that if not fixed by the end of January i will be cancelling my premium subscription.

I opened a Youtube music account (that just happens to be owned by Google) and it works fine with Google. Funny that.

My Theory is that the issue is on googles side and that they are in no rush to fix it as the alternative if to use a google product. Just my 2 cents worth.

It's possible!

BUT, if your theory is TRUE, then Spotify should come here and STATE that!

Why are they taking the blame if Google is the culprit???

Please, also post on the Google Community topic that i opened for this "round": https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Speakers-and-Displays/Google-Nest-Mini-play-wrong-songs-and-p...

I have a premium account...

Several friends and family also have premium accounts!

They use Google Nest hardware...

This must be fixed for good.

Joining in the convo, apologies if things have already been covered. I recently stumbled on an artist called "Catbreath?" who has 124 songs with misleading song titles and misleading album titles. Examples include: "shuffle my liked songs", "My liked music", "my daily drive", "my top songs", "my daily horoscope", just to name a few. I counted them, there are literally 124 song titles like this. Absolutely ridiculous that spotify allows this.

Before someone says "it's a google issue", no, it is most certainly a spotify issue, as spotify have permitted this artist to label the songs in this way.

How hard is to ban an artist that does this? How long until this is fixed?

Just FYI, this never ever happened to me when I had YouTube Music as my default, now that I use Spotify it happens all the time. So if you are using a Google product with Google hardware, it works. Which sucks.

I think it's BOTH fault! Because the last time they fixed it Spotify said that they worked with Google to solve this issues!

Another thing if ROUTINES don't work!

Instead of the ROUTINE, the device plays SOME Spotify SONG, LP, PLAYLIST...

So, clearly, the Google API is (once again!!!) messing up the COMMAND PRIORITY!!!

- ROUTINES!!!!

- PERSONAL PLAYLISTS from the SELECTED MUSIC PROVIDER

- PUBLIC PLAYLISTS from the SELECTED MUSIC PROVIDER

- LP's from the SELECTED MUSIC PROVIDER

- SONGS from the SELECTED MUSIC PROVIDER

These SHOULD be OVERRIDED if the voice command says "Play SONG" or "Play LP" or "Play Playlist" (when the voice command uses the PLAYLIST word, the order should be PERSONAL PLAYLISTS and then PUBLIC PLAYLISTS)

But then again, ALL this was broken and fixed last year!!!

They know the problem!

They know HOW to fix it!!

This is taking exceptionally long to fix. Might think of canceling my spotify subscription if this is not fixed soon, this is beginning to be a major pain in my behind and prevents me from enjoying the service I pay for.

I have 2 premium accounts and I'm considering leaving for another music provider...

I really love Spotify, but i used it nonstop with GOOGLE NEST devices for more than a year, suffering from these annoying problems that were already FIXED!!!

I'm not sure what has been going on behind the scenes, but this issue has become much worse over the last weeks.

Voice commands via Google Assistant used to work at least some of the time, but as of writing starting Spotify via Google Assistant refuses to play any 'Spotify curated' playlist (like Discover Weekly, Daily Mix 1-6, Release Rader, etc.). It always plays some random low quality album or song instead, the exact same as the others in this thread already mentioned.

Even specifically asking for a "Playlist" is completely ignored and it still plays an "Album" instead.

Google Home speaker version: 3.74.444798

Google Home app version: 3.28.1.6

Android Spotify version: 9.0.10.415

Android OS version: 15 (AP4A.250105.002)

P.S.: Why does Spotify even allow artists to upload such low quality albums/songs, with the same name as default Spotify curated playlists? You're just enabling the problem like this...

I truly think I’m done. It’s not worth the headache. The issue is even worse now. Earlier in the week the wrong playlists were playing for me, but they were at least MY playlists. Now it’s back to playing a completely random song with a similar word. Just like the issue before, and the issue before that. No fix in sight.

Throughout the months and months of issues I know Apple Music, as well as YouTube music have been working perfectly fine, and I know the ability to migrate playlists to Apple Music is pretty easy. I’ve been subscribed to Spotify premium for almost a decade now and I think a different service is going to be the best option unfortunately.

Google HOME app is irrelevant...

Spotify VERSION is irrelevant...

Android VERSION is irrelevant...

We don't need any of those to use VOICE commands on the devices!

Nothing works!

Everything is already said in previous posts...
