How to stop random play when I pause Spotify?

How to stop random play when I pause Spotify?

I have liked songs...almost 800 of them. And I'm sick of Spotify's "random" playing of my liked songs. Spotify keeps playing the same 50 or 60 songs over and over and over again! I've got 800 songs that I like. I'd like to listen to them all! So, I started playing the songs by artist. As long as the program is not stopped, or I change from phone speakers to cast speakers, the software goes back to their "random" list!!! Can this be stopped? I have one account, they keep track of everything except what I have litened to and keeps going back to playing their selection of songs!

Hey there, welcome to the Spotify Community!

If I am getting this right, the issue is that when you switch your output device the shuffle option turns on from off. Let me know if I am getting this right and we will move forward with solving the same. Also, drop the App version you are using.

Not quite...I got sick of Spotify constantly playing the same 50 or 60
songs of my favorite play list! I have over 800 liked song. They are liked,
because I like all of them and would like to listen to them ALL! Not just
the 50 or 60 that Spotify forces down my throat! The way I get around this
sickening Spotify feature is to play my liked songs in alphabetical order.
That worked most of the time, BUT Spotify still screws this up for me! If I
change from listening devices, or cast speakers, or ear buds, or the app is
tuned off...it seems like any change at all to Spotify app, Spotify goes
back to their chosen "random" play of the 50 or 60 of my liked songs!!!!! I
have not turned on random play for about a year now for that very reason
and the app never shown that random play has been turned on or selected!
Spotify just usurps that away from me!

Thanks for your reply.

Can I ask if the automix feature is turned on in your settings? And if you change devices then the shuffle might update depending on your previously synced settings. That is not exactly a bug, but let me know your App versions (all the platforms you are experiencing this).

"Autoplay" is not on and has not been on for this very reson! I did not se
an "automix" in the settings. If ther is a setting like that, where is it
hiden? Also, this is not just my problem. take a look on Reddit, that is
the most comlained about feature (bug really) that people are complaining
about.

And yes I quit changing from mobile app to laptop app to combat against the
bug. But yes, it also does this when switching platforms.

Why do yo keep asking for the version? I've already stated "Version:
8.7.88.496" in my last reply.

FYI, I would really like a random playback feature that would prioritise
least played songs instead of most played or recently played songs.

To know more about automix, check out this article. I have gone ahead and collected some previous replies and solutions to the same issue. Please go through them and let me know how it goes.
