My Question or Issue

Liked songs are not syncing between the PC/Web apps and the iPhone/iPad apps.

Liked songs will sync between the PC and web apps.

Like songs will sync between the iPhone and iPad apps.

To test this I used an album where all the songs on the album were set to Liked.  This was the same on all the apps, PC, web, iPhone and iPad.

I then removed the Liked status for all songs on the PC app.  This change was reflected in the web app but not the iPhone or iPad app.

I cleared the cache for all apps which had no effect.

I uninstalled the app from the iPhone and then reinstalled it.  The songs on the iPhone were set to Liked.  I watched as the Liked song ticks came on for each song in the album.  This still did not reflect the Liked status on the PC app.

I removed the Liked status for one song on the iPhone app.  This was immediately reflected in the iPad app but not the PC or web apps.

Thanks,

Toby

Hey, little thing I've tried. Using Mobile app on Android, and then the native .exe app on Win10 (not microsoft store version)

After losing a lot of hope of my devices being synced, i tried one last thing. in the windows app drawer thing (little arrow in the bottom-right next to clock/date and such) find the spotify app>right click>Troubleshooting>Reset app data and restart. it will log you out, and take a little bit to wake back up, but it worked for me. full sync between Android app, Web player (Chrome) and the native desktop app on Win10. Hopefully this works for you!

To anyone finding this thread in the future, this is how to fix this dumb issue that is somehow not fixed by signing out and signing back in.

After these steps your Spotify is set to the state you have in the Web App.

  1. Close Spotify on your PC.
  2. Open your File Explorer and go to C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Spotify\Users
(assuming you installed Spotify on the default location)
You can copy past that path in your File Explorer or find it manually
  3. In this location you'll see a folder named "XXXXXXXXXX-user"
    (10 digits-user). Delete that folder
  4. Start Spotify, the folder should be generated automatically again.

If this didn't solve your issue, repeat the steps but sign out of Spotify first.

Hi @benjammin687,

Thanks for the reply,

Does the sync work on the web player on the same device? If not, then it's possible there are some network issues that are causing this, so consider trying different networks, checking your antivirus and firewall settings to ensure Spotify's access isn't being blocked and disabling any VPNs you might be using.

Let us know how it goes.

It doesn't work for me either. What's weird is that I can see updated saved playlists across devices, but not the liked songs. Spotify Moderator, can you help??

THANK YOU

I have a related issue - my liked songs list is not synching btwn PC and phone app.  The PC doesn't show the last 6 songs that I added.  I've restarted etc.  This is a new phenomenon I just noticed.  It always matched before.  Any suggestions?

My Question or Issue

My library is not syncing across all devices. I listen on my phone most often so any new additions typically come from there, but my libraries on my ipad and my laptop are not updated. I have logged out of each multiple times and this does not work, checked for updates etc. I deleted and redownloaded the apps on both devices, it eventually ended up working on my laptop but not my ipad. I can't really delete and redownload the app on my laptop every time I want my library to update! The web player works fine, just not the apps other than my iphone.

The issue is still present on Fedora 42 Workstation Edition, Linux kernel version 6.15.3-200, architecture: x86-64, Spotify version: 1.2.60.564.gcc6305cb.

Hey @verist, welcome to the Spotify Community! 🎵

I see you have already tried re-installing the app and confirmed that this happens only on apps besides the mobile app. I would still recommend a clean-install using this guide.

Moreover, disable any Ad-Blocker/DNS/VPN service if active, or add Spotify to the exclusions list.

Let me know how that goes. 🙂

Note: I'm not a Spotify employee.

I've been having the same issue with liked song synchronization across multiple devices/browsers; your solution works find and dandy I'm sure but I don't want to have to uninstall my app every time I have the issue (my downloads have to all be reinstalled as well which takes forever)

Spotify is the best music app and I will continue to support it! Please work on fixing this issue as it is one of the recurring bugs presented nowadays (June 29, 2025) I run into this bug frequently

Thanks Spotify personnel I love this app! Continue to improve 👍🏼

My Question or Issue

Hello,

I would like to report a problem with the Windows desktop version of your application regarding the synchronization of my favorites list. After installing the app and logging in to my paid account, the favorites list is updated only during the first login. When I add new songs to my favorites using the iOS app, these changes are not reflected in the Windows desktop app, even after logging out and logging back in.

Could you please investigate this issue? It seems that the favorites list does not synchronize properly between devices. I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this problem.

Thank you in advance for your help.

This solved my issue, cheers!

I never even considered my VPN but I thank that's the cause, thank you!

The sync works fine in any browser. This is definitely an issue with the application on Windows/Mac. Here's the running list of computers I'm having issues with this on:

Windows work laptop

Windows personal laptop

Personal Macbook

They have seemed to stop working at different times. I can tell because I have a different amount of songs in my Liked playlist. Only the app on my phone and in the web browser seem to have the corrected amount of synced songs. Also, I am not using this over VPN. Is there additional troubleshooting you'd recommend, something viable like me sending logs to the Developers, or actually reporting this as a bug?

So far I've tried:

Disabling Hardware Acceleration and Restarting

Reloading the app

Resetting the App Data and Restarting

Uninstalling and Reinstalling

Reinstalling temporarily helps, but the problem returns after a few days.

Hey folks,

Before we continue further, it's worth mentioning that there's currently a thread here where other users are experiencing something similar if not the same with their Liked Songs and we recommend taking a look.

Appreciate the provided details @benjammin687. You mentioned that reinstalling the app temporarily helps, but just to be on the safe side, could you confirm that you've performed a clean reinstall both on Windows and Mac with these steps?

On Windows, it's possible to download Spotify both from the MS store and our website. After the reinstall, please download the version that you weren't using so far and let us know if it makes any difference

Lastly, it would be helpful if you could ask a relative or a friend to log in to their account in the app on desktop (both Windows and Mac) to test if the same behavior persists with Liked Songs for them. This could be an account-related issue instead.

@nadddz To help with the investigation it would be great if you could share all of the steps that you've tried so far and if you noticed if any of them made a difference for you.

Thanks folks and we're here in the meantime if anything else comes up.

yes, this fixed it! Spotify needs to fix this

they really do, especially since this has been a long term issue. there's no excuse or explanation for this especially since its been working forever and then just quit last year. That said, of the multiple solutions in this thread, this is the one that worked for me

>On your PC click the 3 dots in the top left corner of the app. Go to Help > Troubleshooting > Reset App Data and Restart. Click OK on the warning that you will be logged out. Scan the QR code to authorize the login from your phone. When I did this while I was logged into Spotify on my phone, it gave me a prompt that allowed me to "pair" it with my PC and finally my songs were synced up on both phone and PC. Hope this helps.

I don't understand how this is still a problem. It happens almost weekly, my two computers and my phone all go completely out of sync. Constantly resetting them cannot be a valid fix.

Not running a VPN, tried a reinstall and Windows App is still not syncing. It is over a month out of date.

Windows browser version (Chrome) is fine with 230 liked songs,

Android App is fine with 230 liked songs
Windows App is not fine, with 222 songs, last updated 28th May, over a month out of date.

Tried a reinstall and relog / clear app data, which hasn't changed what the app shows.

Windows App:

Windows Browser and every other device:

I'm sorry but this is absurd, I am not a developer or tester and frankly you shouldn't be asking paying users to try every possible configuration of the apps in order to hopefully find a configuration that works for them. The other thread alludes to this being an open bug that maybe one day could possibly be addressed in a future update. Which is also a completely useless response for a paid product.

It STILL does not work. There are vastly different song counts on the Android app and my Windows desktop app. New songs added to my library on mobile just NEVER sync back to desktop. Spotify, what the #*%$ is going on? Fix this now! It worked flawlessly for 10+ years since I've been using Spotify (paid!), but all your recent updates just break things and make it worse and worse. FIX IT NOW! Thank you.
