Hi!
I have a bunch of Local Files uploaded to my Spotify on my Mac. They play on the computer, but it won't allow me to download them for offline sync. I currently have them on a playlist that is downloaded, and songs that are in the Spotify catalog have been downloaded, but my local files have not. This means that I cannot listen to/download them onto my iPhone! Any solutions would help, thanks.
Hey @Izzyrmin,
You need to have your Local Files on your iPhone itself in order to successfully download them on the device via Spotify 🙂
More about Local Files can be found here.
Cheers!
Hi Vasil!
Thanks for the help. My issue lies with the fact that my local files won’t download on my computer (which they have in the past). Although I haven’t been able to play them on my phone, that’s not what my question is right now.
Thanks, Isabella.
Hey @Izzyrmin,
Thanks for keeping in contact and for your clarification.
This type of issue is usually related to some damaged cache stored from previous updates. We'd first recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app. This is often an overlooked step, but it can be helpful in getting rid of any corrupted files that might be causing issues.
After this, you'll need to sync your local files again in your desktop app following the steps in this article.
If the issue persists, include in your next response the OS version of the device involved, along with the Spotify version you're currently running to investigate further.
We'll be on the lookout.
Thanks Oscar!
I ran through all the steps but sadly to no avail.
I am using Spotify for macOS (Intel)
Version 1.1.89.862.g94554d24
My Mac is running on Catalina, Version 10.15.7
Hi there @
Thank you for your reply and all of the troubleshooting you've done so far!
Another useful step is to change the source folder of the local files on the pc. The steps are: Uninstall Spotify on both devices > create a new folder somewhere else on the pc and move the local files there > install Spotify again > remove any potential source folders and add the new one > download the playlist again.
