I’ve always been able to use local files on Spotify perfectly fine in the past with no issue and everything would sync immediately but recently it’s been acting up a lot. I’ve sat with my phone and Spotify open and connected to the same wifi for a good period of time, put the local files into one playlist and pressed download on both my phone and computer, unselected and reselected show local files in settings a few times on both devices as well, but nothing seems to work and I’m not sure what else to do.

Hi, thanks for asking!

 

First of all make sure to read this FAQ about local songs which will clear some doubts on why not all local songs work. Next if you are up with the FAQ then try turning them off and removing all local songs from the App. Restart the App and then import local files again, check if it is working now.

If it's still not working then try a clean install of the Spotify App, more steps in this guide(for Windows) and this (for MacOS) for you. Keep us posted how it goes.
