My Question or Issue

I wanted to mix my playlist of 273 songs, so I turned it into a mix and went into the "Edit" feature to sort them. I spent a couple hours reordering them, and when I was done, I pressed save. It looked for a second like it saved, but then as a scrolled through the list to check it, it seemed to glitch and then it was in a random order. Not the original order, but something somewhat similar (but not in any way that counts) to what I had selected. I spent another hour reordering them and that time it saved, but I wasn't done. When I went back and reordered them again (again it took around 3 hours) and I hit "save," it did the same glitch again. Not sure if the amount of time spent has anything to do with it, but it's very frustrating to spend so many hours for nothing.

Hey @Qkndc,

Thanks for the detailed report!

I tested this on a Samsung S23 and wasn't able to reproduce the behavior, even after leaving the playlist edit screen open for several hours before saving. That said, the fact that this seems to happen after spending a long time reordering the tracks does suggest that the issue could be related to the length of the editing session.

Note that it's also possible that Android is limiting Spotify in the background due to battery or memory optimization settings. If you haven't already, we'd recommend checking your device's battery management settings and making sure Spotify isn't being restricted.

Additionally, it'd be great if you could go through the steps in our Android Troubleshooting Guide. In particular, please try logging in with a different Spotify account on the same device and see if you're able to reproduce the issue there. That will help us determine whether this is device- or account-specific.

We'll keep an eye out for your update.
