My Question or Issue

Ok so around a month or two ago, I was pleasantly surprised when my local files in my liked songs from my desktop computer were randomly added and were playable on my phone, which I had never seen before and was very happy as a lot of my liked songs are local files. This happened at the same time to other friends.

The issue comes from earlier today when I had an unrelated issue with spotify mobile (search not working) so I uninstalled and reinstalled the mobile app. After installation I had norlticed that all of these shared local files had disappeared. I made sure to download the whole liked songs playlist, turn on the local file setting and also the setting to view unavaliable tracks which showed that these files were for some reason unavaliable now.

Would be a big help if someone could solve this for me as I cant go back to not having local files synced anymore. Thanks!

Hi there @4htnamas,

Thanks for reaching out. We'll be happy to help you manage your local files.

From what you've described, this is most likely the older sync method of getting local files kicking in again. Previously, the way to get them on mobile was to upload them to PC and sync them to your phone while both devices were on the same network. While this can still work, the functionality has been deprecated for a while now. The way to get local files on your phone now is to simply upload said files onto the device itself and have them there. You can find the full steps on how to do this here.

Hope this clears things up.
