Playlist Radio is being removed from the context menu

In March 2023, we're removing the Playlist Radio option from the playlist context menu. We'd like to hear your thoughts and feedback about this change in the comments.

  

FAQ 

Are we removing the whole radio feature?

No, we are only removing Playlist Radio. Track/artist and album radios will still be available.

Do we have features where users can have a similar experience?

Yes, right now we have the enhance button or the recently rolled out smart shuffle to give recommendations based on user-created playlists.

Extremely disappointed. Spotify playlist radio was the primary feature that I used as a DJ to find new music. It's also the main feature which differentiated you from your competitors. Your 'smart shuffle' and enhance playlists feature isn't a worthy replacement. There's no reason for me to pay for your service anymore so I'm going to make the switch to deezer soon. I can't say I'm sad to make the switch, but I'm a little perplexed why you would shoot yourselves in the foot like this for no reason. Oh well, goodbye and good riddance.

@eni do we have any sort of update from Spotify? Did they hear this feedback in this forum, and it will be corrected in a future update? Or do we need to follow the example of D&D fans and start mass unsubscribing to get the company's attention. 2 weeks of exclusively negative reviews seems pretty conclusive.

This is a terrible update, I and many other people like to listen to Playlist radios to get new songs without listening to the Playlist itself or altering the Playlist. Why does Spotify always remove used features and replace them with something that doesn't fill the hole left by the original feature. First it was group listening that was previously much more streamlined and useful.

Yo I hate that yall removed playlist radio. That's a primary feature I use. Your algo silos me into the same music and that's the best way to find something new. It's a big enough deal that I might not need ur app anymore...

I don't want to have to turn playlist smart shuffle off, every time I want to listen to standard playlist.

I really wish you wouldn’t get rid of this feature. I use this feature all the time and I was sad to see it missing suddenly. Why get rid of this?? Can there be any option to bring it back? I’m really sad about this and it’s the #1 way I find new music. I’m not interested in smart shuffle because I don’t want the songs just randomly popping into my shuffle, I want to be able to see them and explore them in a very intentional way. I’ve been so sad ever since this feature went missing and I’ve been considering cancelling spotify for the first time in over 10 years.
