Made a playlist after the new update the cover looks tiny and the formatting looks completely different from my past playlists. How do I fix it?

I agree with the other posters here--this new format for playlist images is terrible. Spotify, please change it back to how it was (and still currently appears on older playlists), where a large graphic is centered above the playlist name.

Please listen to your user feedback because this layout is trash. I haven't seen anyone talk about this but it looks ESPECIALLY trash on ipad, the images are TINY. It doesn't even feel like a playlist anymore. Also why did it seem like a good idea to get rid of the color grading????? it's a well liked feature. and where did the button that allows you to scroll through songs go??

It’s so bad that I’m considering deleting my Spotify plan after being loyal to them for years. The new playlist layout is so ugly and no one asked for them to change what wasn’t broken in the first place. Extremely disappointing. If it’s not changed back within the month, I’m gone. They’re too overpriced for me to be paying for trash updates.

I don’t like the new format. I want the list view. I am reading many of you also are hit with this new format. If a solution is found to go back to a list view please post how

The Spotify team sadly seem to be increeeedibly insecure and love to do unnecessary and frankly ugly changes to their app allll the time. Not sure why they're like this but they keep making these really odd and unpopular changes.

PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK UR NEW PLAYLIST UPDATE IS TRASHHHH. STOP WITH THE USELESS UGLY UPDATES ITS RUINING THE APP.

I don’t like it at all…. I might switch to apple music if it remains like this 😕 i love adding my pictures to the cover of the playlist, it makes it feel mine. Now with it being small it’s really not appealing at all, and it feels like it’s not mine.

Honestly I’m about to just go back to Apple Music, I don’t need Spotify wrapped that badly

@lubos, then why default to this abomination if it’s going to change in a few days?  Many of us don’t spend more than one listening session creating a playlist and may not want to come back days after to edit and see if the album art turned out as we expected due to the new formatting. Often, I change the album art multiple times to see what I like best before deciding on the cover art that I’m keeping for my new playlists. This becomes burdensome on consumers with the current UI change. Who wants to wait days to complete a playlist?  It shouldn’t be work and should be an enjoyable experience for consumers to create new playlists. I personally haven’t kept a single playlist that I began since this new UI change. It’s ruined the user experience for me.

Is there any way to opt out or turn it off? it looks terrible, it’s very cluttered compared to the old large picture and the grey is just straight up depressing. no vibes whatsoever. I don’t think I’ll be making any new playlists for the time being to avoid it completely.

On a similar note, there does not need to be a create button in the prime location on the base hot bar, no one is creating playlists etc that often and it definitely shouldn’t take the spot the library was in.

PLEASE go back to the old format.

We want the cover to be BIG and centered.
Please put spacing back between the side navigator and the songs on playlists. Also having the “…” so far from the titles makes it harder to select the right song.
It also makes it easy to start playing a new song when you’re trying to like one.

The new format is not as aesthetically pleasing and is NOT autism or OCD friendly.

Consistency is appreciated, please stop messing with the aesthetics. We liked how it looked before.
New FEATURES are always welcome, but don’t take things away.

It is NOT an improvement. WHY is this still being tested? Why are you guys so keen on destroying things? Are you saving picture file space? Miserable.

Why are we still testing this interface change 3 months later? I know it seems dramatic but I updated my app and I hate this interface change so much that it is negatively affecting my experience. Is there somewhere other than these community forums that we can express our displeasure with this change? Even if it is temporary or being tested we should have somewhere we're able to give feedback on the change if it's a genuine test? I have always been a Spotify user and have never had a ui issue that made me consider leaving before now. I genuinely don't want to leave Spotify but if this is going to be a permanent change to the ui I don't believe I'd be able to continue using it.

Hi, @SirBlue77,

Thanks for reaching out!

You can still access the search bar by swiping down ⬇️ while at the top of the playlist:

That should do the trick - feel free to give it a try! For more info on how to search, sort and filter in Spotify check out this article.

Cheers 🤘

My Question or Issue

Hello, after the update you changed the layout of playlists — okay, fine. But why is it that the playlists created before the update have not been updated to match the new layout? Only newly created playlists have the new look.. please fix this already, because since the update that introduced the new layout, there have been 2 or 3 more updates (if not more), and you still haven’t fixed it.

Spotify, please.

Today I got the first experience of creating a playlist with the shrunk cover art and thats how I discovered this new bullcrap of a feature.

This really ruins the experience of creating playlists. The cover art is part of the whole curation, it is intentional, it is important, and it isn't some second thought or place holder whoever in your team seems to think it is. Please change it back. This ruins the app for me for real.

Cover art should be big like this. Not a little thumbnail off to the side.
