My Question or Issue
So basically, I've been annoyed by a particular song that I only listened to once and didn't like repeatedly showing up in my Recently Played despite having removed it from my Recently Played multiple times. It doesn't show up in the Recently Played tab, but rather in the Recently Played section of the home page, where I don't have the option to remove it. I use the Windows 10 app version of Spotify, and I have tried 'repairing' it and 'resetting' it, which only brought the song back into the Recently Played tab, along with a bunch of other songs I had removed, where I had to remove it once again. Could someone explain if I'm doing something wrong? And if there is a cache for the app I could look through and manually clear? Thanks a bunch.
Hey there @cornplaining,
Thanks for posting here in the Community! We'll gladly help you out.
Once you remove a song from the Recently Played section it shouldn't pop up there anymore. If you still see it, try running a clean reinstall of the app since this ensures the cache gets cleared as you suggested. You can find the necessary steps here. If you use the Spotify app version downloaded from the MicrosoftStore, could you try installing the one from our page?
In case the song still shows up, a couple of screenshots would be very useful. You can use the Insert Photos option in the post editor. This will let us take a closer look at the issue.
Hope you find this useful. Let us know how you get on.
Have a great day!
Hi Ivan,
Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, I'm still having the same issue. I uninstalled the Windows 10 app version of Spotify and made sure it was cleanly uninstalled, and then installed the program from your site instead. When I opened it up, the songs I had removed from my Recently Played were back again. I removed them again, but they still appear in the Recently Played section of the home page, even after restarting the program. I'll insert some images.
The song in question is "Plastic Love" by Lizz Robinett. There is also the album of Angry Birds soundtrack songs at the end which is showing up despite having removed it as well. Hope the pics help somehow.
Bumping because I'm still having this issue.
Hi Ivan,
I am still having this issue. I've cleared my cache multiple times, even removed everything from my Recently Played, and still the home page is showing songs and albums that aren't in my Recently Played. I would really appreciate it if there was some sort of response on what to do next or if this is just a bug I have to wait for a fix for.
Thanks,
- cornplaining
