I'm trying to get rid of things my friends have listened to on my account because I don't want heir recommendations.

First of all i would like to point out the it is possible to remove content from the "Recently Played" section.

To do so please use the Desktop or Mac iOS Desktop app :

Furthermore, if you wish to have your "Recently Played" section completely private you can do it by visiting your "Settings" tab and turning this setting on:

In addition, i would recommend visiting your account overview page, scrolling down and clicking on "Sign Out Everywhere".

Then log back in on all of your devices as it should "shake things up" a bit.
