Songs displaying in the wrong language

Songs displaying in the wrong language

Hi, I listen to lots of Japanese songs and they display in katakana (japanese characters). I can't read Japanese. There were some times that I could access the song/artist in romaji (english letters) so I would rather have that. Is there an option or a way to access the song/artist in english only? The songs that I add to my playlist when I can see the english version stay in english. When listening to it on my laptop/phone, the web player shows it in japanese.Screenshot_31.png

Hi there @jackdaguy,

thanks for reaching out to the community !

Please keep in mind that Spotify uploads tracks information as they receive it.

Therefore, changing it isn't possible.

Hope this sheds some light.

Please let me know if you have any further questions 🙂

A bit late, but i am pretty much on the same boat as you. I listen to a lot of Japanese songs and was looking for a solution to change it back to romanji. I miss those days. Seems unfortunate that it is beyond Spotify's control.

You can have a look in our Idea Exchange to see if someone else has already made a similar suggestion. If there isn't one, you can give these steps a go and submit your idea. That way other users can support it. Keep in mind the higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for it to be implemented.
