don't create new playlist

don't create new playlist

When I find 1 song and save it, I don't want a new playlist created based on that song, thereby deleting all my other songs on the playlist.

Hey there @wheresmymoney

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community. We moved your post from the Ideas board to the relevant Help board, where it fits better.

Could you give us more info about the issue you're experiencing? We'll be happy to help.

When you save a song in the app, you don't need to create a new playlist. You just need to tap on the 3 dots next to the song you'd like to save to Your Library and select "Add to playlist":

Selecting this option, a list of your playlists should pop up so you can choose which playlist you'd like to add the song to:

To select it, you just need to tap on the circle next to the playlist and then tap on "Done".

If this is not how it works on your end, would you mind sending us a short screen recording of the issue happening so we can take a closer look? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).

Lastly, sending us the exact make/model, operating system and Spotify version of your device would come in handy.

We'll be waiting for your reply.

Thanks, Eni. But Spotify creates the new playlist even though I only try to add a song to an existing one.

Thanks for the reply, @wheresmymoney.

That shouldn't happen when following the above steps. Just to confirm, what device does this occur with? Have you tried the same steps but with another one (if available)? I'm attaching a short screen recording which captures the process in action on mobile, feel free to try it as well to see if that does the trick.

Should the issue persist on your end, a video of the exact behavior would be greatly appreciated - just make sure you cover up any personal info such as your email/username.

The song from my screen recording is correctly added to the playlist without creating a new one.The song from my screen recording is correctly added to the playlist without creating a new one.

Cheers 🤘
