My Question or Issue

I use the spotify app on my macbook pro. The refresh function stopped working a few months ago. Is there a way to fix this issue?

Hey @vhoneyman,

Thanks for reaching out.

Do you mean the Refresh button in the Recommended section of your playlists? In any case, give us a bit more info and a few screenshots/a short video of how things look on your end.

It would also be really useful if you can test this on a different device/the web player and or with a different account.

Keep us posted.

yes, I'm referring to the refresh button in the recommended section of my playlists....that is where the exact same suggestions, in the exact same order, come up, no matter what genre of music I've put into the playlist. I've tried other browsers and devices and get the same issue. I don't have a different account.

Hey @vhoneyman,

Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.

In this case, we'd suggest you clear the cache on your devices, to see if you notice any changes on this behavior. You can follow the steps in this article.

On another note, we would like to gather some additional info. In this case, please send us the following:

  • Does this happen in all your playlists?
  • Has the app always been behaving like this or did it start to happen after a specific event such as an OS update?
  • The exact Spotify version you're running on your MacBook.
  • A video recording of what you kindly mentioned. You can attach it in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public, so we can visualize it.

Keep us in the loop!
