I'm having the same problem, same version numbers except on iPod Touch 4th Gen. There's approx 750 MB free on my iPod.

I have about 285 playlists. Could this be a factor?

I try to keep the playlists I synch to my iPod to less than 3 or 4 (each playlist is approx one album). I would try to deselct some playlists to not synch, but I cant get it to connect to the desktop app long enough.

BTW, I'm using the Linux Preview desktop app.

The "Connecting..." banner shows up at the top of the app, then goes away (like it's finished connecting). My iPod shows up in the desktop app, then a couple seconds later it crashes on my iPod, and dissapears from the desktop app.

I'm connected to the same wifi as the desktop app the whole time, and there's nothing wrong with the wifi connection as far as I can tell.

I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, which solved ths issue entirely for me. Spotify now working great as before on my iPod Touch.
