Can someone explain what is happening? I’m a growing artist and I have a featured artist on a song, but it’s not getting a lot of plays because the “appears on” feature is wiped! I’m sure this is disabling listeners and artists. Spotify please bring this back. This is insane!!

Yeah, seeing as Apple music has an “Appears On” section and doesn’t seem to be constantly removing useful features (along with also offering me a 3 month free trial), I’m canceling renewal of my Spotify subscription and making the move over in two weeks when my monthly payment would normally be coming up.
I hereby bid farewell to this joke of a platform and its garbage “copy/paste response” customer service, always giving the same disgusting runaround every single time anybody comes to them with a legitimate complaint in regards to them further damaging their platform by stripping back the things that made it so solid to begin with.
I am missing it on both:

Still no update from Spotify on this after weeks of their last "update" and after MONTHS of this issue being present. This customer service is a joke, especially for premium users. This never should have been an issue to begin, and the fact that it's taking this long to add back a feature that was ALREADY there is insane.
I agree with a ton of other people on here that it's time to switch to a different service soon if this isn't fixed. Stop taking away features and literally IGNORING your customers, Spotify. So many people have complained about this issue, articles have been written, a ton of people mentioned it on Twitter - and still nothing. PLEASE Spotify. This is ridiculous.
Hi everyone. I heard from a contact at Spotify. I’ve been told that they are working on an improved Appears On section and that it will return soon. No exact date yet, but it will come back in some form.
Would've be nice to see Spotify make this statement publicly. Seems they can't be bothered to properly communicate with their paying customers. 😠

The Appears On section is very important for classical music. Any given classical album could contain works by multiple composers, so when searching by composer, it's important to be able to browse every album they are on, even if it's just for one track.

Having this feature gone limits my ability to find the songs I know artists were made popular from... since not all artists solo material is what makes them famous. Really frustrating for my genres as electronic and rap have tons of collaboration. Even my prog/math rock has collaborations that I'll have a hard time finding. This needs so be fixed ASAP!!!
They removed the notification bell for all new releases from artists you follow (possibly the best and only good feature about Spotify) to replace it with Release Radar so they could create more jobs instead of letting the user decide freely what they want to be notified by. I imagine they are removing "Appears On" to add another arbitrary useless feature. This company is anti-consumer and anti-artist time to upload my playlists somewhere else.
I just spoke with Spotify and they said the following:
It sounds like you’re seeing one of a few changes we’ve made to Spotify recently.We’re always testing possible improvements and new features. Don't worry, you can still see in on your desktop app. Please reinstall the app and restart the device. It should then work 🙂
I still couldn't (and still can't) see it on my Desktop, so I told the agent, and she she replied:
Okay, like what I mentioned earlier, you may not see it on your mobile app as this is one of the few changes that we have made to Spotify recently. But this is just a test and not yet permanently rolled out.

That's complete total absolute BS. What kind of runaround game is Spotify pulling here? TESTS THAT REQUIRE THE REMOVAL OF FEATURES USED BY PAYING CUSTOMERS WITHOUT CONSENT OR NOTICE IS SCAMMY.
Yea Spotify's responses to all this have been total bulls***. Either they ignore us here, or in direct responses to people they give vague answers about "testing features". It's ridiculous. They treat their customers like garbage and clearly have no value for their artists either.
I'm getting so tired of this. Just bring back the feature that was already there to begin with and that EVERYONE is asking to bring back.
There was a feature that was on each artist's page that allowed you to see what songs/albums they'd recently appeared on. This feature greatly enhanced my overall Spotify experience. I was able to find songs that I'd otherwise never hear, which further lead me to artists that I'd never hear. Please bring this feature back, I think everyone would appreciate it.
Assuming you do get the Appears On section and want the option to have the appearances in order of date, please vote here, so hopefully Spotify will fix:
Spotify - sorry but this is complete B##L S##T and you are liars. You intentionally removed this feature so why pretend it is under review and you are trying to figure out what happened. Keep testing me. Tons of alternatives out there.
As everyone here has state, the "Artist Appears On" feature was a great way to find compilations and other sources of music featuring the artist. In fact, there are so many artists that would only be discoverable on "Artist Appears On." Just like you removed the feature so that we could sort search results by album name, time, artist name, etc.,
Its always some lame $ excuse. I guess what turns off your customers so much, is how you lie about it.
Folks - this isn't a mobile or desktop issue. this isn't a version issue. it doesn't matter how many times you reinstall. Like so many other great things, Spotify INTENTIONALLY removed this feature and is now lying about it, pretending its a tech issue and sending people going in circles. Shameful.
the last thing keeping me here - we already have an Apple Music subscription - are my playlists. As soon as I figure out how to convert and switch over, I'm gone.

I do NOT have an Appears On section anymore in the following versions of Spotify:
