“Appears On” feature gone

Solved!

“Appears On” feature gone

Can someone explain what is happening? I’m a growing artist and I have a featured artist on a song, but it’s not getting a lot of plays because the “appears on” feature is wiped! I’m sure this is disabling listeners and artists. Spotify please bring this back. This is insane!!

same problem as everyone else, "appears on" feature is missing from artists page. i will be switching services if this feature does not return. it is clear spotify only cares about their playlists now.

This "issue" just started up for me on the desktop app, 1.1.34.694.gac68a2b3. The fact this has been an outstanding complaint for so long suggests you are intentionally testing removing the area and seeing how it affects user behavior / complaints. Admittedly, the "appears on" section often has a bunch of bargain bin garbage and redundant music (which often skirts around digital rights management of source material and is likely a core reason you're considering nixing the section altogether), but historically there has been very significant music which published only in compilations, and it's an essential feature for crate diggers like myself who don't want to have Discogs open in another window anytime we want to listen to music.

Hopefully you can come up with an intelligent solution to your problem that solves your UX concerns as well as your legal department that isn't just giving up on it. That would be a real bummer.

I'm having the same issue here on both Mobile and Desktop Spotify apps. Frankly it's very disappointing and really ruining my experience with the service.

I've posted on here so many times but going to keep doing it to help get Spotify's attention and until this problem is fixed.

It's greatly hurting artists, limiting customers, and overall just an awful decision to remove the "Appears On" section. Not to mention that Spotify has been ignoring all of us about this issue for so long. I first noticed the removal of the feature on mobile almost 3 MONTHS AGO. It's been removed from all my devices for about 2 months. Insane.

I've posted my devices, version numbers, etc. numerous times. They know it's an issue for essentially everyone. Fix it already and stop ignoring us. We're tired and p*ssed off.

Just chatted with a support agent directly. They said they're aware of the issue and have their tech team working on it and that it shouldn't be "too much longer".

At this rate who knows when that will be. I just hope they're being honest.

If this isn't fixed I will be cancelling my subscription and using another streaming service.

Appears on was a great feature. First it disappeared from my mobile app and now it's gone from the desktop app. Fix this please.

The "Appears On" feature is not present in the mobile / chromebook app version. It is present in the web player and in the desktop app only. Please fix this

I use the appears on feature as both an artist and a fan of music.

It is really ruining my love for Spotify now that its gone. It helps me discover new music and as an artist it helps me connect with other artists fan bases.

Its really annoying that it has been gone right when I dropped a new project that has lots of features. I feel like this has impacted my ability to gain new fans.

Thank you Spotify for holding me back as an artist.

Spotify has removed two features which I think has cheapened the user experience, as well as impacted on artists' ability to maximize the platform for promoting their music. Removing the "Appears On" feature does not make sense but I must believe that Spotify developers had reasons of their own for making the change. Unfortunately, considering the negative impact for users and artists did not factor into their decision.

For this reason I am going to unsubscribe once I have moved the playlists to Apple Music, which includes both of the features Spotify has removed.

Is there an update on this issue? When will the "appears on" feature return? Running iOS 13.5.1 and Spotify version 8.5.60.881

06.14.20

Still not working on Android or Windows 10 desktop... It's very frustrating as an artist that has has many feature songs and can no longer see our own work on our profile page anymore. We pay to have our music on your service and we also pay to LISTEN to music on your service. PLEASE LISTEN TO US AND FIX THIS ISSUE, IT IS IMPORTANT!!

Please fix this feature! As an artist myself who is featured on numerous compilations, the Appears On section is a Spotify feature that helps users find my music more easily. As a listener, I also use the Appears On feature to discover new music.

There is no way this is a legal problem. All songs should be screened before being allowed to upload to Spotify. If you are testing whether or not this feature is enjoyed by users, well you have your answer! We all love this feature, and we need you to bring it back! Fix the code and get it up and running.

The standard of professionalism is low here. You have hundreds of paying users wondering what you're doing and you have the audacity to just keep quiet (after closing and then reopening the issue). Get it together Spotify!

I hate to think that I will need to cancel my subscription and delete Spotify over the removal of said functionality. Spotify refuses to explain what's happening, why they're removing features, or when we can see a fix, if at all. WHY AM I PAYING FOR THIS?!?

Still having issues with this. This is a huge issue for a lot of artists as you're now cutting off access to some of their music. This is impacting them financially! Fix this, please.

Windows 10.

Spotify version 1.1.34.694

You don't need a screenshot.  Come on.

It's happening on both my iPhone and Macbook.

The iPhone is an IPhone 11 pro running iOS 13.3 and Spotify 8.5.60.

My MacBook is running OSX Mojave 10.14.16 and Spotify 1.1.34.694

I've uninstalled and re-installed both and tried them on different networks and mobile. Nothing worked.

For anyone who wants this working on their dekstop, I rolled back my version of Spotify by finding the 3/17 OSX update (1.1.29.592) which I think was the last one before people started reporting this in April. I'm now seeing "Appears On" again by using the old version of the app. I'm refusing to update until this is fixed.
