My Question or Issue
While listening with AirPods, I can control song playback but cannot adjust volume using the watch. I have confirmed that with Apple's music or podcasts apps, I am still able to adjust the volume with the watch, this is only an issue with Spotify.

Hey there folks,
Thanks for posting in this thread and for the provided info.
Due to updates on iOS, Spotify users no longer can use their iPhone's volume controls to change the volume on connected speakers. Instead, please use the volume slider in the device menu.
The Community's here should you need help with anything else. Have a good one!
Rumour has it v8.9.44 has fixed the issue.
This works for volume--thanks! However it doesn't allow you to pause or skip to next song, etc. Sigh. Still frustrated.
Well whaddya know--it seems to be fixed. . . kind of. It works, but it's still very inconsistent. It works a little then it stops working then it starts again. But a little progress is better than nothing!
Hey Amuzik,
I'm still facing this issue on my apple watch. Any solution you can recommend?
Thanks and regards
Only works 0.17% of the time. Even if you force quit the watch app and reopen, it's either trying to monkey with track playing (where it is in the timeline) or nothing.
When playing Spotify on my iPad I can not adjust the volume using the crown of my Apple watch. Play, pause and skip are working normally.
When playing Spotify on my iPhone everything works normally.
I checked that all my devices have the newest version of their operating system:
Apple watch 10: watchOS 11.0.1 (22R361)
iphone 12 mini: iOS 18.0.1
iPad 6. Generation: iPadOS 17.7 (21H16)
According to the recommendations in this thread I already deleted and reinstalled the Spotify App on all three devices, the problem is still the same.
What can I do now?
