Can't sync iPod

So I just synced some of my music library to my spotify devices thing. It said that I would have to restore my iPod in order to do this, so I did. I did not realize that my iPod would then become useless and become completely unable to sync to my iTunes anymore. How can I remove my iPod from the device so I can continue using my iPod and allow it to sync to iTunes?

@kettmoney I moved your post to the iOS section. Make sure itunes is running and spotify isn't, connect your ipod and you should be able to do a full reset/restore from itunes.
